Risen Chapter 9. It would be fun - "I think you're afraid to socialize. Not everyone is out to get you." Dr stone looked fearless, she was fed up, they have been at it for ten minutes now, going back and forth on the same topic. Kara has been very arrogant on the topic, she refused to own up, like a true patient. "That's your diagnosis Doc?" Kara asked rare too calm for the situation at hand, Kelly didn't expect it either. Kelly cleared her throat before speaking. "It's not a diagnosis Kara. It's the truth and you know am right, am speaking as a friend here not your doctor." Kara went silent again, this was how it was. Kelly hit her with the truth, she would fall silent for a while then drop the topic. "Listen to me Kara. Loneliness kills, Alex wouldn't want to see you like this-isolated and killing yourself. I'm pretty sure she didn't fall in love with the Kara I know." She looked at Kara's face trying to find a hint of an emotion she was feeling, her face was blank, like she didn't hear what she had just said. "Kara, think of what Alex would want. What she would think if she saw you like this, she wouldn't be hap-" Kelly stopped taking when Kara hit her desk with anger, there she was standing Infront of Kara, her fist again the wood. "You didn't know Alex, don't act like you did, you don't know what made her happy. And don't you think I think about her? I f*****g dream her, do you know how it feels when you do something but everything reminds you of them." Kara eyes were red, she wanted to cry but she kept holding her tears back. "Then tell me. What Alex would have wanted, what it feels like. Prove me wrong Kara, prove to me that Alex would have been happy with you isolating yourself." There was silence filled them again. Kara being tortured emotionally, fighting the need to cry. Kelly regretting everything she has said today, all she wanted was to help, but Kara was so stubborn. "You have no right to use Alex against me." Kara mumbled under her breath, her arms crossed like an angry child. "I know and I'm sorry. I just really want to help Kara, I care about you-like a friend, you know." It was more than a friend, they both knew it. Kelly waited for Kara to speak again, maybe it would go somewhere this time. "She wouldn't be happy, not even one bit." Kara smiled sadly by the memory of how Alex would react about this whole situation. "Let me see." Alex demanded, forcefully trying removing Kara's hands which where covering her face. She got into a fight at the bar with chick that was claiming she had just f****d Alex. Kara slowly lowered her hands, her cheek has nail starch and her lip had a cut on it. "See, it's not that bad." she giggled but Alex didn't find it fun, she was concerned. "Honey eyes, it's nothing." she moved closer to Alex, who had still spoken nothing. "What if she hurt you. I've told you to stop starting fights with bitches I would never sleep with." she finally spoke, her tone full of worry and frustration. Kara brought her in for a hug "She didn't that's what matters. You should have seen her crying for help." Kara gave herself a proud of you smile. "No one stands a chance against the vicious Kara." she held Kara tightly, inhaling her scent. "But don't fight anyone, for me or cause of me. I don't want my precious to get hurt, who will take care of me if you are. I definitely wouldn't be pleased with it." she looked at her with worry. Kara never enjoyed when Alex's eyes display worry or sadness. "I promise I won't." she held out her pinky finger, Alex smiled by the gesture she always pulled when they made promises. Alex held out her pinky too "Pinky promise." They both giggled. Alex placed a quick kiss on Kara's cheek and lip, Kara smirked and pulled her in for a deeper kiss. "Kara. You okay? Were you remembering her?" Kelly asked snapping Kara back, she nodded with a light smile. Kelly mouthed a silent sorry for disturbing her thoughts. "It's okay. I'll try socializing but if I don't like it, I won't do it again." Kara said with half a smile, half of her wanted to and other thought it was a waste for her time. "Great!" Kelly practically jumped in her seat, she was filled with so much excitement. Kara gave her a shy smile, she wondered why Kelly would be so excited about this but then again, it was Kelly Stone. The cheerful twenty three year old therapist, with the biggest smile and heart. "So what am I required to do first." she relaxed on the couch as she wait for Kelly to tell her what to do. All she hoped was that it didn't involve talking to strangers on the sidewalk, the ideas Kelly always came up with, where insane. Help was help but sometimes she doubted if she had actually graduated or attended a class. "Saturday you're hanging out with me. I'll show you around, get you to loosen up." Kara shifted uncomfortable on the couch. The last Saturday was a freak show, she didn't trust herself to actually socialize Kelly without being weird or destroying, she didn't know about this plan. "Oh come on. It will be okay, and don't worry about last Saturday. I get it, you were just coming out of the shell, I pushed too hard. I won't do anything like that." It was just like she was reading her mind. "Okay." Kara agreed and Kelly almost jumped out from the rooftop. Kara giggled as Kelly settled herself back in the chair, she smiled with embarrassment. Only if Kara knew exactly why she was so happy, she would be a tomato by now. Kelly cleared her throat, the session wasn't quite over yet, fifteen more minutes where left. This was the most productive session they have had, that ended nicely. "So. What do you feel when you see a stranger approach you." Kelly waited for Kara's response, her legs crossed and her body leaning forward. "Hide, run and don't make eye contact." she said simply like it meant nothing, but it did. Whenever Kara saw a stranger was always on the verge of a nervous breakdown, she was always hyperventilating. Kelly's reaction surprised her, she looked amused her in a way. Kelly kept doing her job for the remaining minutes. Kara sat there half paying attention, her mind was occupied with Alex. Time passed quick, Kara was walking down the sidewalk heading towards the little park bench she got caught up in yesterday. The fresh breeze relaxed her body, the morning sun hitting just right. She sat there enjoying nature for only five minutes, then she got up to head to work. She didn't enjoy detective Kelvin. She got up, her bag hanging from her right shoulder, she began to walk to the bookstore.
