Risen Chapter 10. Do I miss her that much — “Kara, place these new books in there places, please.” Kelvin asked with a smile, Kara obeyed. She got the books and walked to the shelves. She began with the romance section, a new batch of cheesy romantic book. She began placing them alphabetically, letter after letter, this by far would be the most tiresome day. She was now at the comedy section, the last one. The books were just a few, it would end soon. She started placing the books in there rightful place, She placed the new five in there alphabet place. She started walking back to the counter, to get the returned books. Then a book caught her eye, she grab it, examined the book with a careful eye. She was returning the book back when someone got her full attention. She looked familiar, her short straight black hair resting on her shoulders, her slender legs sticking out of the Jean short she had on and the white vest exposing the rest of her, she was glorious. She placed a lock of her hair behind her ear, she continued checking the book out. Then she looked up, her honey eyes making Kara ran out of words, it was her, it was Alex. Kara rushed to the next book section, dropping the book she had at hand down to the ground. She had to find Alex, she walked quickly to the place she saw her. When she reached there, the woman that stood there wasn’t the one she saw. She had on jeans and her hair was in a messy bun, her eyes where far from the honey colour. She saw Alex, she was sure. She rushed to the exit of the bookstore, no one was there. She looked around in panic, Alex wouldn’t have disappeared into thin air just like that. She stepped out of the store, she saw nothing but people walking and cars, no Alex. Kara looked like a crazy woman seeing ghost’s, she sighed then walked back in the book store, her face showed disappointment. “Woah. Where were you off to speedy.” Kelvin joked as Kara was walking towards him. He didn’t like her facial expression, she didn’t even seem annoyed by the names, which she was always. He face changed from playful to worried, in an instant. “I thought I saw someone, crazy huh.” she nervously rubbed her neck, she couldn’t believe she actually missed Alex that match till imaging her. Kelvin gave her a sympathetic smile, she returned with a sad smile. Kara got the book’s on the counter then she walked back to the comedy section, she had unfinished business. “Sorry I dropped you, for a stupid imagination. I should have known better.” she mumbled whilst picking up the comedy book she dropped. Putting it back in its place, Kara walked to another section, she had books to return. After the little incident, Kara was gloomy through out the rest of the morning. Kelvin joked about it, saying she must be hungry but she wasn’t. He ended up giving her an early break, that’s how she ended up here on the park benches. After seeing her dead love, Kara wasn’t in any mood to ear right now, she wasn’t even in the mood to work or breath. She leaned back against the hard wood, her eyes in the sky. The hoodie covering every part of her, she watched as the sun shone brightly. Reminding her of her own day which was always rainy but today it had a hint of sunshine, now it’s pouring cats and dogs. She then watched everyone around her, laughing and half fun, being in love and at peace. She felt even more rain within her, drowning her. She watched quietly as her tears built up in her weak body. She then heard her stomach growl in hunger, it was time to actually get her lunch break now. She got up from the bench slowly walking away, making sure she disturbed no one. The walk to the dinner seemed long today because she walked slower than usual, and it was far away from the park. After cruel minutes of dragging herself to the dinner, she made it. The dinner only had a few people present, it always did but there were less than usual. Considering it was thirty minutes past her usual arrival time, maybe they already eat and left, Kara thought. She made her way to her usual spot, she never found anyone sitting here it gave her relief. The waitress that came to get her order wasn’t the pretty young lady she pissed off yesterday, this one was a older. When she ordered her usual, the waitress disappeared into the kitchen. Kara found herself thinking again, about earlier. Maybe because she had been thinking of Alex lately, her mind played with her. It’s the only explanation, she was hallucinating. Even though it was a hallucination, it felt so real like Alex was right there. Kara sighed in defeat, she was just so tired. Moments later her good arrived with the same waitress who had taken her order. She immediately started eating it, she was starving. She didn’t enjoy her lunch so much but at least she did eat. She paid for her lunch before waking out if the dinner, it was time to finish up setting books right. “You were that hungry?” Kelvin asked as she stepped in. He let her go at exactly twelve noon but she returned at half past one noon. She gave him a fake smile and agreed with a nod, before getting back to her work, which wasn’t much. The only thing she did from when she returned was mop. She kept mopping to herself, not even music made her feel better. Maybe sleep would, that’s what she was planning to do when she got home. “See you tomorrow.” Kelvin told Kara as she was stepping out of the bookstore. She replied with a barely audible yeah, she made her way to the bus stop. She waited a couple of minutes then it arrived, in it’s blue and glory. Kara unlocked her apartment door, switching on the lights before locking the door again. She made her way to the bathroom, a warm shower is what she needed. She got out of her clothes then head to the showers, it was her third resort. The second being food and the first being sleep, sleep was always the first. Kara bathe for a couple of minutes and she felt a hell lot better off. When she got out, she firstly ordered herself a lasagna before getting dressed in a t-shirt and short. She wait on the kitchen counter wait for the delivery person to show up. The sooner she ate, the sooner she would sleep and forget. Five minutes later, there was a knock, Kara jumping off the counter to the door almost looked like a child running to get free candy. Her lasagna was here, still hot, freshly baked as she had hoped it would show up. The heavenly scent filled her nostrils, she paid the delivery boy and then got her dinner. She locked the door before walking to her kitchen looking for a fork, her taste buds couldn’t hold on any longer.
