Chapter 18

Risen Chapter 18. Location

“Tell me what happened.” Alex spoke as they headed to the sitting room, Alex with still in her boxers under the covers.

Goth did not flinch at all nor did he ask questions, they just walked casually to the living room. Alex sat herself down and so did Goth, right on the other couch he drew some sheets of papers to Alex. “We think we might have found him.” he spoke as he handed her the papers.

Alex received them with curiosity but the long awaited pause from Goth interested her more, she placed the papers down. “But?” she asked him.

He sighed, “He has got tighter security now, almost as though he was—”

“Expecting me.” Alex finished the sentence on his behalf, everything was making sense now never had she it would. Alex stroked her chin, “Makes so much sense now, the reason why he shot me once on my shoulder and multiple times on Kara, he wanted me alive.” for one soul purpose his mentally disturbed mind could think of, he wanted to cause pain.

Goth looked intrigued, Nicklaus Aarne was a hard man to read and find, truth be told they called him the shadow for that exactly reason. He was the strings behind all operations that happened in the forsaken, every illegal activity that happened he was the brains of it all.

“But why.” Goth could not find a reason behind all this, even if it was laid down for him. None of her guards knew why Aarne was after her, only she and Ariana knew not even Kara.

Alex exhaled weakly, “So I hunt him down for killing her, this was his sick game.” when he said she would pay, she should have listened to his warning even if it seemed empty now their lives were ruined.

“So what are we going to do, play his game.”

Alex laughed like a maniac then stood, she looked Goth dead in the eyes. “We’re going to train then we’ll finish the game once and for all.” she walked out of the room making her way to Kara and Ariana, this time Alex knew she had to finish what she started and there was no running.

Everyone she knew was in danger, Kara had already suffered the consequences she wasn’t going to let her go through it again.

“What did big guy want to talk about?” Arie asked as soon as Alex appeared, Alex gave her a look that said I’ll tell you later. Alex was frustrated trying and thinking of all possible ways to over come this, at the same time protect her loved ones.

Ariana understood exactly what was going on with Alex, she got out of bed walking up to Alex she whispered, “Tell her, she needs to know.” and all the things she was afraid of years ago came back, Alex truly screwed up.

The door closed behind Alex which left Kara and Alex, Kara knew she was out of the loop when the two kept giving eachother silent talk.

Alex looked lost in thought she seemed as though she forgot there was a third person in the room, Kara looked at her concerned. She got out of the bed walking to her, “What’s wrong Alex.” she asked as she held one of Alex’s hand in hers.

Alex returned to earth with that one touch, she cupped Kara’s face, “I love you okay.” said Alex with all her heart, her eyes giving away more than those words.

Kara placed her hands on top of Alex’s which where still cupping her face, “Why do you make it seem like you’re leaving and not returning.” silence came from Alex which worried Kara even more than words, Kara now definitely knew something was wrong. “Alex what’s wrong.” she asked concerned.

Alex finally let go of Kara, she looked at the floor as she began to speak. “It’s for the best Kara, for you what I should have done.” Kara stared at her in disbelief, after everything that happened Alex was just going to show up one day then leave the next with no hope of return.

Alex noticed Kara’s long pause of silence, she knew she was overthinking everything, “I’ll regret it for the rest of my life..” her words faded off at the end, she didn’t believe she would survive but for Kara she would fight.

“Alexandra Reeves!!” Kara shouted that caused Alex to jerk out her thoughts, the only time Kara used her full name was when she was furious. “There is no f*****g way I’m letting you leave I just got you back.” she wanted to cry right there Alex met the world to her, she couldn’t loose her for the second time.

“And I’m glad I found you too but I’ll be back.” there was a hint of uncertainty in her voice that broke Kara, she held Alex’s head in her palms.

The two looked into eachother’s eyes, “I’ll go with you.”

“No!” Alex immediately protested freeing herself from Kara, she looked at her as though she lost her mind. Kara stood there irritated Alex would always be stubborn, “Yes and it’s final, I listened to you once and I thought I lost you not again.”

The vivid picture of what happened creeped it way into both the girls minds, Alex instantly placed her hand over her right shoulder remembering the pain. Then she dropped her arm, “You don’t understand” she wasn’t wrong at all Kara didn’t, the while story.

“I don’t understand!?” Kara looked beyond annoyed, she took a step closer to Alex slamming her into the walk. “At least give me a bit of respect Alex, I went through hell I almost died for whatever reason you know, I lost the love of my life and thought of safety in one day. I highly think I understand, I will understand and I’m involved in this you know it.”

Alex stood there petrified her body against the wall, Kara smirked at the sight she had in front of her. She pressed one of her hand against the wall making no way of escape, “Now tell me, everything Alex no hiding.”

Alex swallowed the lamp stuck in her neck with all strength then she began to spill it all.

Alex told her everything about Aarne and the forsaken, now Kara knew all about her past the same past she had been running from since she was sixteen.

Aarne was the gang lord of the forsaken, he wasn’t as young as his name laid it out. At sixteen everything around Alex had been falling apart, at home and school, that was when the world turned on her.

She left home with nothing to survive on, working part time job but one day she found him and continuously begged to be apart of his gang. It took serval tries to convince him but when she did she thought everything was going to be okay, but everything fell upon even more.

The first two years were okay partying drinking no school untill she got arrested for drug possession, then she was introduced into illegal fighting for him as payment he said everyday was a new broken bone.

At twenty one she managed to escape from his crawls, at that same age she met Kara and everything seemed great but last year took a bad turn.

Kara took it surprisingly well, all she did was comfort her through the memories.

Then the day went by embracing eachothers presence, later that night they went to bed with the same thought in mind how to end it all but the weeks would enlighten them, from tomorrow it was preparing for war.
