Chapter 8: Guild

And thus Yonezu and Soma destroy their main base achieving "Twenty levels scaling" their first win in an official match

The announcer proudly said "Victory". Everyone was happy about their victory until the announcer said

"MVP: Soma"

After hearing that everyone stopped cheering, everyone expect Soma, They all look at Soma and shout all together:

"HOW DID YOU GOT THE MVP?"

The MVP is calculated by stats alone, it takes into consideration, how many kills you had, deaths, minions killed, structures destroyed based on the length of the game. The MVP just get a little bit more money at the end of the match and after earning a lot of MVP's you gain a title that makes you more respected by the town folks so earning more money and experience from quests

After they calm down a bit they saw their stats

Yonezu had the most minions killed but his 12 deaths didn't help him get the MVP, Inazuke destroyed the most turrets, but since he was versus 2 persons, his minions killed were no more than average and he played quite passively so he didn't have that many kills or assists. Tamura had a lot of kills, since his bonus gold passive works on him too, so him taking the kills it's the optimal outcome, too bad MVP's for supports are calculated on assists and crowd control seconds, or in a case of a healer, the shield and heal provided, so this factors didn't help Tamura. Ken had a decent amount of kills and assists and he didn't die once, but his minion killed were awful, he had like 20 per 10 minutes. And then we get to soma, which was nowhere to be seen the whole match only for the last 5 minutes. His minions killed were extremely good, but that's because he didn't have a competition and didn't help the other battlefields, and the fact that he was present for the last 5 minutes helped him get assists and kill and also destroyed structures so he easily earned the MVP spot,

And like that, they all get teleported back earning some gold and experience,

When they got there 3 mature guys were waiting for them, they were dressed in some tuxedos and had pretty serious faces.

"Hello guys, we are from the "Discrete Whirlwind" and we want to talk a little bit with you,"

"Discrete Whirlwind? never heard of it before, it is some sort of restaurant? You want us to offer a free meal because we won?" Says Ken

"No, No, We are a guild, and we are here to make you an offer,"

They accept to talk with them and they sat down at the table drinking a cup of coffee bought by them

"So, you might already know, in this world, the only way of ranking up and go to other cities is to rank up in the Climbing Isles. As you might see, we are not that suited for doing matches. After all, none of us three don't even have a combat passive" Says one of them

And then, the one that was looking the most intimidating starts speaking

"Our trade is that: You join our guild and help us get out from this place, and you will never worry if you will have enough money for food ever in your life. Ken was it? What do you think?"

Ken expression changed from an exciting face to a serious one

"So, you are telling me that being in a guild and participate in a match will gonna rank all the other people in it?

"This is how it went all the times, so that's why some higher up teams have a lot of members, people didn't rank up on their own but rather got some sort of boost to help them be there, even tho that's not recommended, you should at least see the potential of your players before boosting them to a higher rank," Says the guy that talked first

But then with a more intimidating and serious face and tone looking only at Ken, the second guy says:

"And we saw your potential, Are you going to accept our trade?"

Ken that was looking serious got a little bit angry

"Why did you use the singular?" Knowing exactly that he was only looking at him

But then Inazuke that was in the right part of Ken starts murmuring to him,

"you" it's plural too..."

Ken started looking at the table and quietly and peacefully said

"Inazuke, we know each other for 2 years, we did a lot of quests together, we formed a team, we participated in a Climbing Isles match and won..."

And he looks at Inazuke and shouts:

"AND STILL DIDN'T FOUND OUT, WHO THE HELL ASKED YOU"

"Calm down, calm down, it's kinda harsh to only take you" Follows the first guy "You can also bring your support friend, seemed like you make a great team"

Everyone was questioning what was happening, after their only match together, some random guys already wanted to disband the team

"It's this a joke, how am I supposed to leave my comrades. You don't know what we have been through" Says Ken calmly and gets up from the seat

"And we can make sure you don't get through that again" Follows rapidly the first guy seeing he was about to lose Ken,

But then the intimidating guy rise a hand to signal the other guy to shut up,

"You know, in our guild, we have a saying " You either are friend with us... or enemyes", quite relatable isn't it?"

The others got scared and start talking to each other looking nervous

Ken just start smiling and says

"It is indeed relatable, but the fact that you are still in the starting area and want to hire me means that you don't have any other players at the moment."

The three guys got a little bit surprised hearing Ken said that and knowing it is totally true

"I will kindly refuse your trade offer, and thanks for the coffee,"

And with that Ken leaves, and the other follows him. the three guys were just standing there looking at them leaving,

On the road everyone was happy

"You made the right choice," Says Yonezu

"I know you wouldn't let us behind like that," Says Inazuke

"No money in the world can buy our friendship" Ads Soma

"Shut up, I will gladly sell you all for a bowl of spaghetti," Says Ken that was embarrassed for all the kind words

Soma just stop walking and start looking at the sky with an emotionless face

"I remember... It almost happened one time" And he remembers the image of him holding a piece of cardboard in the middle of the city. On the cardboard was written " I will come with you for a bowl of spaghetti,"

"I was joking, tho I am really hungry, so it will be good to get something to eat"

Soma gets back to his senses and says

"The restaurant it is then, let's go there fast!"

Arriving there everyone started cheering for them

"What is happening" Ask Inazuke

"Everyone was looking at your match, it was soo cool, good job," said Lisa

"It was not even a ranked match," Says Inazuke blushing

"Anyway, we want to eat, prepare us as usual,"

After they ate, Lisa came to their table with another girl

"There are a lot of new people here, what happened," Ask Ken looking at the all-new waitress

"Oh, yea the boss wanted more people since we will be leaving soon"

"You are leaving?"

"yes, we tough of doing something more interesting, so we decided to go on to do quests"

That's great" Says Inazuke

Ken thinks

"If she is leaving, who is gonna c**k spaghetti for me at the restaurant? I need to do something about it"

"Oi, Lisa, what do you know about the guilds?"

"Guilds? Well they are like a bigger team, they said you should always have more people in your team, and to cover all the roles"

"roles? what are you, you didn't look like a tank, your passive will work well there"

"Well yes, my passive got upgraded that I can't get crowd controlled, but I also learned a skill that let me heal a person while I am near them"

"The user is immune to all forms of crowd control except slows"

Cooldown: Allways active

Ability name: Spiritual covenant

"The user chose an ally to constantly heal him while you are near them,

The ability has an infinite duration and can only be stoped by crowd control, or by the user remaining without mana"

Cooldown: 50 seconds

"And my friend here is a marksman, a real marksmen" And present the new girl to them

"Watcha doing? I am Inaba, an old friend of Lisa"

"Oh yea, I remember Lisa talking about you, I am also an old friend of Lisa"

"How can I don't know, the handsome Ken, That's what Lisa told me anyway before you came here"

Lisa's face started getting very red and started blushing

"I heard that too, in order to do raids you need a large number of people, and they are usually a party of 20, so makes sense to form a guild and rank up together," Says Lisa

But then Ken stand up for the seat and hold Lisa's hands with a charming expression

"Join our guild then"

Lisa start blushing, but everyone else was confused

"We have a guild?"

"No, but we can make one, I suppose it's not that hard"

"I am coming only if I can bring Inaba with me"

"Of course"

"So we are forming a guild too?" Says Inazuke

"Well, if you guys want, I will haply be part of it," Says Lisa

"If she is going I am going too," says Inaba

"Ok, where do we need to go?" ask Yonezu

"To the guild center, of course, we need to complete some forms and we are good to go"

"Forms again," Says Inazuke bored

But then Ken approaches Inazuke and looks right into his eyes

"Inazuke, you were born for this"

So they decided to go there and see what is that about

When they got there they asked for the needed forms to complete to create a guild

After they look at it, Inazuke says

"We have a problem... the first question is also the hardest, our guild name..."
