Two days after Suzanne and Socrates returned home, someone knocked at their back door.
“Greetings,” Suzanne said, in English, as she swung the door wide, seeing who it was.
Being the first one through the door, Cornelius shook her hand limply and squeezed past her into the dining area to join Socrates. S’hyrlus took her elbow and gently guided her to the table. When Suzanne tried to close the door, she glimpsed two…others.
“This is Synkyn and Tynkyn Broadstone,” S’hyrlus introduced the two creatures, speaking the Hamadryad language. “They are twins and have agreed to make the trip to this…outland for cooking and keeping the ambassador’s residence,” she said smiling.
