"Good morning ladies" we heard a familiar voice as Lori opened the back hatch of her grey Chevy HHR. I turned around to see Father Samuel Rivers coming towards us.
"Good morning Father" I greeted him. Father Rivers has been the priest at our church for about 10 years, he's 6'1 with dirt blonde hair and hazel eyes and suntanned skin. I turn back towards Lori as she lifts a container of caramel apples out of the car.
"Do you need any help?" he asks us.
"Oh thank you Father" Lori smiled at him. "Can you take the other water cooler?" she nodded to the orange cylinder cooler that has apple cider in it.
"My pleasure" he said walking over and picking up one of the coolers. "Think you made enough?" he chuckles.
"Enough apples or cider?" I chuckle.
"Both" he laughs as we head to the church, we put the two containers of apples and the two coolers of cider on a table in the fellowship room. The fellowship room is in the basement, it's kind of like a huge dinning room. There's a kitchen just to the back of the room, there are a lot of tables set up for today's bake sale. Lori takes packages of small foam cups out of a bag and sets them next to the coolers.
"I'll meet you before service is over to help set up" Amy tells Lori.
"Okay" Lori replies as she finishes up with the cups.
"I'll be back after children's service" I told her as I head to the stairs.
"Okay" she says.
I make my way upstairs to where the offices and classrooms are, I enter my classroom and start setting up the materials for today's lesson and projects. As I'm finishing the project set up my phone rings, I take it out of my purse and look at the caller id. "Hey there" I say answering the call.
"Hey beautiful" I could hear the smile on Frank's face as he hears my voice. "What-cha doing?" he asks me.
"Setting up for children's church" I tell him.
"What's the subject today?" he asks me.
"The history of All Hallows Eve" I tell him.
"Nice" he says.
"Did you get the treats I sent you?" I ask him.
"Yes I did" he replies, "thank you" he says. "You make the best cookies and cupcakes" he told me, "my roommate is looking forward to your Christmas package" he chuckles.
"I guess I'll have to pack extra goodies then" I chuckle.
"You won't have to ship it this year" he said, "I'll be coming home" he stated.
"Really!" I exclaimed excitedly. "Are you staying for New Years too?" I asked him.
"No" he sighed, "I'll be leaving after Christmas" he said.
"Oh" I sighed.
"You sound disappointed" he stated.
"Maybe just a little" I replied.
"Well if you really want me to stay longer I guess I could manage a few more days" he told me.
"Not for me" I said, "I just thought you would want to spend time with your family since you don't come home that often" I stated.
"Sure" he teased.
"Really" I told him.
"Why won't you admit that you miss me?" he teased me some more.
"I never said that I didn't miss you" I told him, "we talk almost twice a week and I doubt that you talk your parents that much" I stated to him.
"Touche' " he said in defeat, "I'll let you get back to class" he said.
"Yeah, plus you have to go to church yourself" I told him.
"Yes I do" he replied, "I'll call you later then" he said.
"Okay, bye" I said then we both hung up, I finished setting up the lesson just in time for the kids to walk through the door.
"Good morning Ms. Emily" they said in unison as they took their seats.
"Good morning guys" I said back and got started on the lesson.

I walked out the dorm building and headed to the parking lot, just as I reached the lot I noticed a tall blonde wearing a sports bra and leggings running my way. "Good morning Frank" she said breathlessly as she took out her earbuds.
"Good morning Heather" I replied, "out for a morning run I see" I stated.
"Yeah, nothing like a good run to keep the blood flowing" she said with a chuckle. "You off to church?" she noticed my suit.
"Yeah, gotta stay in the man's good graces" I told her.
"Are you coming to the party tonight?" she asks me.
"No" I said, "I'm not a party person" I told her.
"Too bad" she said tracing my arm with her finger, "maybe I could come by and keep you company instead" she said flirtatiously.
"Um, no thanks" I said moving my arm away, "I'm sorry Heather but I'm not interested" I apologized to her.
"Well" she huffed, "then I'll just be on my way then" she backed away then put her earbuds back in then turned around and jogged away. I made my way to my black Ford F150 and climbed into the driver seat, I started the ignition and took off.
