I'm sitting at the desk doing work when Peter walks in throwing his bag on his bed. "Study group done already?" I turn my head in his direction as he plops on his bed.
"Stacey and Carol ended group early so they could go shopping for tomorrow nights party" he looked at me and I could tell he was getting an idea.
"NO" I told him flat out.
"I didn't say anything" he said in defense.
"I've been your roommate for the past 5 years, I know what you're thinking before you say it" I glared at him.
"Come on, it'll be fun" he tries giving me a pleading look glaring at me with his brown eyes.
"Not going to work" I turn my attention back to my work.
"You're such a work-a-holic" he groaned in disappointment.
"I would rather work on my studies than go out and drink all night just to wake up with a hangover" I told him still concentrating on my work.
"When was the last time you went out and got drunk?" he sat up on his elbows looking at me curiously.
"My graduation night" I said, "my brother and cousins took me out" I told him.
"Dude that was 5 years ago" he sounded shocked.
"So" I glared at him.
"You need a night out" he sat all the way up.
"I don't like to drink" I told him, "it clouds my mind and I can't focus" I said to him as I tried to focus on my work.
"Fine" he sighed, "I won't push it anymore" he laid back down on his bed. Just as I was finishing up on what I was working on my phone started ringing, I look at the caller id and see that it's my brother.
"Hey Fred" I say as I answer the call.
"I need you to come home for Christmas this year" he said on the other end.
"Why?" I ask, I don't usually go home during the holidays because I want to stay focused on school.
"I need you to get measured so your tux will be ready for August" he stated.
"Can't I just send you my measurements?" I groaned.
"No" he said flat out, "you need to be fitted" he told me. "And plus mom wants to see you" he stated.
"Fine" I sighed, "but I'm leaving right after" I said.
"What ever you say brother" he said trying not to laugh.
"I mean it" I hissed at him.
"Fine fine" he answered, "see you soon" he disconnected the call. I tossed my phone on the desk and sighed, I ran my hand threw my hair then groaned.
"Guilt trip?" Peter looked at me with pity.
"He used our mom against me" I looked at him in defeat.
"That's a low blow" he chuckled and shook his head.
"Looks like I'm going home for Christmas" I sighed then continued working.

"Did the dress fit?" I asked Amy as she walked into the kitchen, Lori and I were busy making caramel apples for the church bake sale tomorrow afternoon.
"Fit like a glove" she smiled. "Need any help?" she asked taking a seat at the counter facing us.
"Sure, you can wrap the finished ones over there" Lori pointed to some trays of decorated apples.
"Okay" Amy took the trays over to the table where the plastic wrappers and string were, she takes an apple and puts it in the middle of the plastic sheet then pulls the corners up over the apple. She then wraps the string around the plastic and the stick then ties it into a nice bow., she continues to do the same to the rest of the apples while Lori and I continue making more.
Every year our family makes all sorts of treats for our church's bake sales, they have bake sales for every occasion through out the year. We're making caramel apples and spiced apple cider for this years bake sale.
"We need more apples" Lori states, "I'll go to the store to get more" she said wiping her hands on a dish towel the walking out of the kitchen.
"Hey Amy" I called out to her, "can you come make some more caramel sauce?' I ask her.
"Sure" she said placing the last apple in a plastic wrapper then tying it closed, she walked over to the stove and tossed some caramel pieces into the double boiler and turned on the burner. "How many are you making this year?" she asked me as she stirred the caramel.
"100" I told her as I dipped a caramel apple into some chocolate chips.
"That's a lot" she said in shock.
"They were a big hit last year and we didn't have enough so we decided to double the amount this year to ensure we had enough" I told her placing another apple into the caramel sauce.
"Oh, that makes sense" she said stirring. "Did you send Frank his annual treat box?" she wiggled her brows at me.
"Yes" I sighed at her, " and there's nothing going on between us" I told her sternly.
"You are so blind" she giggled.
"Excuse me?" I glared at her.
"Come on" she said bringing the melted caramel over and pouring it into the bowl of caramel that was on the counter, "you know he's in love with you" she stated taking the double boiler back to the stove and tossing more caramel pieces into it.
"No he's not" I stated.
"Yes he is " she teased me, "and you're in love with him" she stated.
"You're imagining things" I turn my attention back to the apples, "I don't want to talk about thins anymore" I said with a warning tone.
"Okay" she said in surrender then went back to stirring the caramel. It took us about 3 hours to finish the caramel apples and another 2 hours to make the cider, after we finished everything and packed it up for tomorrow we went to bed.
