Chapter 6 - Her Confession

Graduation is coming for us fourth-year students while the freshmen will start their journey in college. Almost all the fourth-year students were preparing for their final exam and requirements. I still do not have any idea about my future. I am taking Business Management because my father is a businessman and I am his only child, in the future, I will inherit our family business.
I am still standing in the doorway waiting for Alodia. I need to talk to her about what happened after the concert. It really bothers me that she did not contact me during weekends. She did not answer my calls or text. I am really worried about her.
"Julie!" I looked to my left and saw Alodia running toward me while waving her hand in the air. She looks very happy and has no problems. She jumped at me and hugged me tightly. I was surprised by her action.
Is she okay?
"Alodia, you look happy. Can I ask why?" I said while parting our bodies from hugging each other.
Alodia shook her head while smiling at me. She held both of my hands and looked at me in the eyes. She let out a sigh before she spoke.
"I am going to France after graduation," She said with a lively voice. My eyes widen after hearing her good news. To visit and work in France is one of Alodia's dreams. Ever since I met her, she always mentioned something about France. She said that she really wanted to live and grow old in France together with her future family.
"Really!? wait! How come? What happened? How about the band?" I asked. The thought started to run wild in my head when I suddenly thought of the things that will be left behind when she leaves.
Alodia pulled me inside the classroom to sit on the empty chair. Sadness flashed in her eyes as she lowered her head. I knew it. She does not want to leave the band however he cannot also deny her dreams. She got herself in dilemma.
"Julie, I do not want to leave the band, especially you but, I have to. France is my dream. Nothing and no one can stop me to go there. I already talked with everyone in the band about this. We decided to dissolve the band after graduation. The concert last time was our last performance" She said with a sad voice. I was astounded by what I heard.
"What? b-but..." I did not manage to speak my thoughts when I saw Alodia's tears.
Ctrl V is her home. They have great memories together. They create sounds, lyrics, and music that made everybody support them. Dissolving the band will surely break Alodia and her friend's hearts.
"Julie, everything will be fine. Trust me" She smiled and hugged me. I felt sad at the thought of Alodia going to leave the country.
I suddenly thought about Xayne. I wonder how he felt about this. Xayne likes Alodia. He even got himself drunk because of her.
"Alodia, Can I ask?"
"What is it?" She asked. I gathered all my courage before I ask her about what happened last time.
"A-about you and X-xayne... Uhm..." I do not know when to start. I feel embarrassed towards her because she knew that I liked Xayne but Xayne liked her. It is awkward.
Alodia suddenly laughed. I looked at her with a surprised expression. Why is she laughing?
"Julie, relaxed. I already talked to Xayne. Last time, I told him that I had someone I like, and it is not him. I only think of him as my best friend and my brother" She giggled as she pats my head.
After our long talk, our professor for our next subject arrived. My mind kept on thinking about Xayne. I wanted to know how he felt about Alodia leaving the country, and dissolving the band and I wanted to know his plan. I am also worried about him.
During the lunch break, Alodia invites me for lunch together with the band. She said this is the last time that they will eat together. I remembered that we only have one week before the school year-end which is why things like eating together or hanging out with our friends should be done before we fully commit ourselves to studying for finals.
Alodia and I went to the cafeteria. There are a lot of students gathering around the cashier to order and pay for their food. I looked around to find out the table. My eyes stop the moment they caught the sight of Xayne talking together with Miguel and Carl at the corner.
"Hey, guys!" Alodia called their attention. She pulled me towards them. The foods were already at the table when we arrived.
"Alodia and Julie. You two finally arrived we were waiting for you" Carl said and winked at us. He is really a womanizer.
"Sorry, Carl," I said and smile at him.
Alodia let me sit in front of Xayne while she sits beside him. Miguel and Carl were sitting together. Alodia and Xayne talked casually like something never happened between them. Are they really okay?
Carl was saying something weird about her new girlfriend. The last time we talked, he was talking about her recent ex-girlfriend. We can no longer remember who his girlfriends were. We are all laughing because of his story and I feel sorry for the women he cheated on and he will cheat on.
I tried to look at Xayne who was busy eating his food while listening to Carl's loud voice. I noticed that he is looking at Alodia who was laughing and smiling in front of us. I lowered my head and looked at my food. Seeing him looking at the other woman made me heartache.
Miguel tried to talk to me about their bands. He was smiling at me while telling me about their past before the band formed. I found myself listening to him and forgot about Xayne who is in front of me. I noticed that Miguel is a nice person, he shows how much he cares for the band when he said that he still wanted to play songs with them.
After we eat, Alodia decided to announce something before we leave. I looked at her, trying to read her facial expression and what is on her mind apparently, I failed.
"Guys, you know already that after graduation I will leave the country, right?" Alodia asked. My heart started to beat fast. I have a feeling that something was about to happen, but I do not have any idea about it.
We nodded in unison and waited for her next words. We are all looking at her except Xayne. He was looking at his empty plate. Does he have any idea what Alodia has to say?
"I want to confess," She said.
Confess? What is she going to confess?
The throbbing in my chest only intensified as Alodia slowly looked at Miguel. Looks like I already know what Alodia has to say. Is she going to confess to Miguel? I looked at Xayne. He is still not looking at her. I should stop Alodia. She would hurt Xayne if she confessed her feelings for Miguel in front of him.
"Alodia--" I was about to stop her when she suddenly speaks.
"Miguel, I like you," She said. Miguel's mouth was agape in shock, and Carl's eyes widen while Xayne was gripping his glass.
She finally said it.
