Drunken Passion

I had been working for Mr. Luciano for a few months. He was a friendly employer, though he was rarely in his room so we barely saw each other. But what I learned about him was that he was a serial philanderer. He brought different women every night to his room. I knew this because when I had to bring his breakfast in the morning he always had a different gal. But it seemed a had a main gal, Galina Orlavo. She was a blonde Russian bombshell who also happened to be a dancer. She was a surprisingly nice person and we had a few conversations. I would always feel guilty because I was unsure if she was aware of her beau's philandering but their courtship was none of my business. I was just a maid so I opted with keeping my mouth shut. It was my nineteenth birthday and I was disappointed that I had to work the late-night shift, Angela had offered to take me out and show me the city. Though I had been living in New York for over a year I was still not quite familiar with the city especially the nightlife, however, I could not afford to leave the job so I decided to suck it up and put on my big girl panties. I was busy polishing the furniture when Mr. Luciano walked into the room, his masculine cologne overtaking my senses. "Oh hi, Victoria". He said and I lifted my gaze to at him. "Good evening sir". I said before getting back to polishing the furniture. "How have been?". He asked. "Swell thank you and yourself". I said looking back up at him. "Peaches". He said giving me a charming smile and I felt the heat creep up on my cheeks and thanked the Lord for my dark complexion. "Ya know I just realized somethin". He said pouring himself a glass of whiskey. "What is that sir?". I asked. "Ya been workin for me for months and I don't know anythin 'bout ya". He said as he took a seat cradling his glass. "Well, there is not much to know about me". I said shyly noticing the gaze he gave me. "Nonsense a beautiful dame like ya can't be borin". He said and I stifled a giggle from his compliment. "Ya accent. Its different where ya from?". He said as he poured himself another glass of whiskey. "Alabama". I said. "The south huh?". He said and I nodded. "My family is from the south of Italy. Sicily it's a small island. If ya look at it on a map,it's that small place that looks like its being kicked out of the country". He said and I smiled. I shifted feeling awkward by the look he was giving me. "How old are ya Victoria". He said before taking a sip of his whiskey. "I turned nineteen today". I said in a small voice. "Today's ya birthday?". He asked and I nodded. "Than why ya workin?". He said putting the glass on a table next to him. "I am not in charge of my schedule sir". I replied watching him get from his seat. "Its ya birthday and we gonna have fun,ya want a drink?". He said pouring the whiskey. "Oh no sir I am still working plus I do not drink alcohol". I said. "It's ya birthday and I'm givin ya time off. Plus if ya can't drink with me I'm gonna have to finish this alone". He said picking up the large bottle of whiskey and I internally groaned. I am nineteen maybe I should have a little fun, that was how I rationalized my actions as I nodded watching a smile form on his face. However, that spur of the moment decision would forever change the course of my life
