Chapter 9

SAKSHI VARMA It's been three days.  Three days since I blurted out why I don't want to marry him and ran from the car. Three days since I've been cooped up in my apartment, hiding from the whole world. Three days since he has been trying to contact me. And three days since I've been ignoring him and everyone else.  But now I have to go home. Because my lovely grandfather decided to come tomorrow and I have to be there to greet him.  I am still thinking about what to tell Arjun, how to explain what I had said. Surely he would have many questions and I don't know how to answer his questions, so I'm avoiding him. I will have to think of an answer by tonight because I'm sure he'll be waiting for me to come out from hiding.  Should I just tell him the whole story? No. No. It might be dangerous for him. And I still don't know if I should involve him or not. But he's adamant on marrying me.  Ugh. I don't know what to do.  Maybe it's time to know a little more about my fiancé. With that thought, I called someone whom I haven't contacted for months. He picked up in the first ring.  "How did you remember me today?" He asked from the other side. "I need you to find me about someone," I said, cutting the chase. I don't beat around the bush, I'm straightforward in what I want. And he knows it. "Just give me the name."  "Arjun Khurana." "Dad!" I shouted when I went inside the house. After the phone call, I immediately left for the house. As soon as I saw him getting out of his room I went towards him and hugged him tightly.  "I missed you," I mumbled still holding him tightly as he patted my back. "What happened? Are you okay? And are you by any chance on a sugar rush?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at me. I guess my eyes are pretty dilated, that's why he is looking in my eyes constantly.  "I kinda ate all the chocolates and I think I'm on a sugar rush now." I said giving him a sheepish smile and he mumbled something like 'it should be interesting now.' I think I have to get my ears checked soon. "Go and take some rest. We'll talk tomorrow." He said sighing and pushed me slightly towards the direction of my room. As I was going to open the door of my room he stopped me and said, "Oh and there's a gift for you in your room. Hope you like it." He winked at me. "I really hope it is something edible. I need to eat something now." I mumbled as I went into my room and closed the door. I leaned against the door and closed my eyes. I shouldn't have eaten all the chocolates.  "I'm not food but you surely can eat me. I bet I'll taste better than your food." I squealed a little hearing his voice. I opened my eyes and looked forward just to see him staring at me intensely. There he was, sprawled on my bed, wearing only jeans that hung low on his hips showing the V line, looking like a runaway model and smirking at me. "What the heck are you doing here, in my room and in my bed half naked?!" I yelled, snapping out of the shock. He is the gift that dad was talking about?  'Well, it is a good gift, a very good gift.' I thought, licking my lips. Just a gift wrapper is lacking. Focus Sakshi, focus. Don't think about that. "Well, you know what I am here for." He said, an amused smile still playing on his lips.  "Oh, by the way, did you like your gift?" He winked flexing his rock hard abs. Usually, I don't get affected by men having astonishing bodies but he is just something else. With him, I feel the things that I know only exist in books. I blame the chocolates for this. I'm not in my right mind now. I have to escape from here somehow, otherwise, I'm dead. I turned towards the door but before I could even touch the doorknob he caught my hand and picked me up like I'm a sack of potatoes.  "What the-" I tried to speak but before I could even complete my sentence he dumped me on the bed. I tried to sit up but he climbed on the bed and sat on my stomach. He's putting the weight of his body on his legs, which are on either side of my body so as he doesn't crush my body. "Sakshi are you drunk? Your dad didn't mention anything about you drinking." He asked frowning and shifted over me to get into a comfortable position. "No. I'm not drunk. I'm just on a sugar rush." I grumbled looking directly at his eyes. "Now leave me." I hissed and glared at him, "someone might come in." "So what?" He asked as if it's no big deal.  "So what?! Are you f*****g mad? No one can see us like this!" I said trying to push him from me. But he just pressed his body into mine more. I can feel his muscles from this position. The hormones in me are w***e moaning now. I again blame the chocolates for this. Ugh. Don't get distracted now Sakshi. "Are you going to explain to me what you said earlier?" He asked looking at me intensely. Ignoring his question, I looked straight at his eyes and asked, "You really want this marriage?" I may be on a sugar rush but I'm very much sober to blurt out everything.  He looked surprised, then confused. "Yes." He whispered.  "Your life will be in danger," I warned him. "Really?" He asked, getting amused as if I had cracked some funny joke. "Yes, really. And I'm not kidding." I said narrowing my eyes at him and he just laughed. b***h. "Okay," I said, after a minute of silence.  "Okay, what?" He asked looking confused. "Okay. I'll marry you." I said, then added, "but after two months, not two weeks. Okay?" I need time to sort out things that already should've been taken care of. But no worries I'll take care of it now. "Uh, about that, I wanted to tell you something." He said looking guilty. I narrowed my eyes at him. Now, what did he do? "Grandfather didn't say that we were going to marry in two weeks. Did he?" I asked when realisation drew to me. I  glared at him. He looked surprised. Seems like he wasn't aware that I can read people like an open book. I inwardly smirked.  "No. He said we are to be married in three months but that day in Yash's office, I got pissed so I said that we are marrying in two weeks. Sorry." He sighed and we both stayed silent, with him on top of me. It seems comfortable, so I didn't move. Also, he doesn't seem to be moving anytime soon which is fine by me. I'm telling you the chocolates had something in them.  After a while, he asked, "You studied psychology, didn't you?" It was more of a statement than a question. I just nodded and stared at him without blinking as he traced his fingers along my jawline. "And you have studied psychology for a little while before you took business," I said as a matter of fact. Instead of looking surprised he just smirked a little. "Correct. I took psychology for a while but then I realised that my interest lies in business. Looks like you did your homework today." He said, still smirking.  Then I asked the question which was bothering me from the start, "are you going to tell me why did you agree to this marriage?"
