EVANGELINE I was in the middle of attending to a patient when one of the other nurses told me I had a call at the front desk. Confused as to who it was, I dragged myself over. “Hello?” “Evangeline, thank the goddess you answered.” I hated the way my heart leaped at the sound of Alex’s voice.
