That night, I was shocked by how lonely I was.
I hadn’t lived alone in my entire life. I lived with grandma, then Nicholas, and as soon as I was married, I lived with Alex. Being in a new house was a brand new feeling for me, and I was stunned by how silent and lonely it was.
I could barely sleep, and by the next morning, I was exhausted. I dragged myself into the kitchen to pour myself a cup of coffee when I heard a knock on the door.
My spine straightened and the remnants of sleep cleared out of my eyes. Only Bella knew where my new house was, and she wouldn’t visit unannounced.
