Shock and shame filled me at Margaret’s words.

I’d defended all her bullshit in the past, but this was beyond anything I could defend. It was one thing for her to insult someone from my pack, but to insinuate that Nicholas—anther Alpha—was participating in i****t was more than I could handle.
Even if I were still blinded by her lies, I would have never been able to get her out of this hole she just dug for herself.
