I arrived at the office with my heart still pounding from the news I’d received at the hospital. Pregnant. The word kept echoing in my mind, filling me with equal parts terror and disbelief. But I couldn’t dwell on it now.
Not when I saw my parents standing in the lobby, looking tense and out of place. They rarely visited the company in person; usually, they handled affairs from home, content to let Ryan and me manage the daily grind.
