My thoughts were mixed up in the afterglow as I lay next to Alex. My heart was still beating fast from how intense the touch between us was. Even though it was warm, an unpleasant thought kept coming back to me. Why did he insist on keeping us a secret? But was it enough? I could tell he cared by the way he looked at me and touched me. Was I enough to stand beside him openly, for everyone to know?
