Chapter 66

Elder Royal’s POV

Nicholas informs me that Elder Crawford and James will be coming to Full Moon this afternoon. Their ETA is around 3pm and he wants me to meet with them. He plans to present the information discussed at the summit and see if they are aware, if they are participants and where their future in the council stands. I ask the kitchen to provide coffee and snacks for our meeting and alert the guards to the visitors. They arrive right before 3 and are taken to one of the conference rooms. Nicholas and I walk in together.

“King Nicholas. It is good to see you outside the castle. You look so much more refreshed and healthier. Some fresh air was warranted” Elder Crawford states

“Thank you, being here has been good for me and enlightening” Nicholas says

“Elder Crawford and James, I invited you to Full Moon to have a serious discussion. I have been informed of a lot of disturbing information recently, and I need to know where you stand regarding this. I will proceed with questions and allegations first” Nicholas states firmly

“Gentlemen, are you aware that I was being drugged while at the castle? That my every move was being monitored, and surveillance equipment was installed in the castle? That an allegation of manipulation by the council has been concluded?” He questions them

“King Nicholas, we were not aware nor would we ever condone the use of any drugs on anyone, let alone the royal family. We were aware that guards were placed on you but not surveillance equipment. The other elders felt your grief was becoming severe depression, and you were a threat to yourself. Because of this we agreed with the extra guards. We rarely agree with the other elders and at times are concerned about their suggestions” Elder James states

“Exactly, we had multiple discussions about you getting therapy and that being locked in the castle was just making your grief worse. Whenever we suggested you leaving or therapy, we were outvoted. We were not aware of you being drugged. But to be honest, you look so much better now that you are not there, so I can accept the allegation. If what you are saying is true, then I agree the council has been manipulating you” Elder Crawford states

“Why did you not discuss your concerns with me?”

“We were always stopped, and then we received the official statement that all correspondence must go through Peters as the leader of the council. Since then, we are not allowed to go to packs unless scheduled by him. We can’t discuss any issues with you, and only he has contact with you. I can forward you the email if you like” Crawford mentions

Crawford pulls out his phone and I give him my email address. While I wait for the email, Nicholas continues his questions.

“Are you aware of corruption within the council?”

They look at each other before answering.

“We have suspicions but no solid proof. We have been hearing things from some packs but have no support or authorization to investigate” Crawford says

“I believe some if not all the other elders are taking bribes from packs for doing illegal things. And I suspect they were involved in your parents' accident” James says

“Tell me why you suspect that?” Nicholas asks

“I find it suspicious that all the ranked members died except for the Gamma’s son and prior to the accident there were accusations of him stealing and doing other illegal activities. He was going to be stripped of his ability to become the future Gamma. He also made threats to you at that time. Then everyone is killed, he becomes the official advisor and is running everything, then he dies on what was to be a peace mission” James says

“Not long after this, Elder Peters is put in charge, and we get that email. Then they are building new houses and showing up in new cars. Packs that we had long-standing relationships with can no longer contact us without his permission, and we have guards put on us for our safety. The only reason we were able to come here alone is because the call was urgent and last minute”

I show Nicholas the email, and you can feel the anger coming from him as he reads it.

“Gentlemen, if you don’t know, this is ex-Alpha Derrick Royal from Crystal Lake Pack. I am going to let him provide the remainder of the information to you” Nicholas says

“Good day, Elder Crawford and James. This weekend we had an Alpha meeting with over 80 packs within the kingdom. This meeting was organized by myself and Alpha Xander of Full Moon. The reason was to discuss corruption within the kingdom and the council. We knew to remove or disband the council we needed the King and/or a majority of votes from the Alphas. At the time we were not sure of the king's knowledge or participation in the corruption, so we got the majority of the alphas together. These binders have details on proof provided to everyone this weekend”

“We have proof of illegal abuse among packs, a s*x trafficking ring among packs that has been active for over 5 years, proof of council participation in the death of the King and royal ranked members, participation and knowledge of such actions by the council, bribery by the council along with drugging and manipulating the King”

“The binder contains; ledgers and transactions of purchases of women for the trafficking ring, correspondence that was intercepted supporting the information, a drug analysis of the ‘cocktail’ the girls are given to keep them compliant, testimonies from some of the victims, status reports from spies we have in and around the participating packs and a medical report and pictures from my niece who was held as a slave in her pack for six years along with being abused and r***d”

“Alpha David’s daughter? Annalisa?” James asks

“Yes”

“The investigator of the Dark Hollow attack said she was dead. That rogues wiped out the whole family” James comments

“We have evidence to support that the rogues were funded by the then Beta and now Alpha to take over the pack”

“The King was close friends with your brother. He sent three different investigators to Dark Hollow, and they all came back with the same information. They said it was a m******e!” Crawford said

“It was a m******e but all planned and executed by Clarence. In addition to the binder, we have video of phone conversations, abuse and r****g of pack members by the Dark Hollow ranked members”

“How did you get this video?” James asks

“My brother had suspicions, and he installed cameras throughout the pack without anyone’s knowledge. They have been active for the last eight years. One of the more recent videos is your fellow elders repeatedly r****g a group of drugged women over a six-hour period”

I play all the videos for them. They both look sick by the end of it all.

“They all have mates!” Crawford yells

“We know, but we believe this is a common thing for them”

“I’m sorry, this is a lot of overwhelming information. Can we take a small break to process” James asks with tears in his eyes

We all sit back for a bit. Both elders get up and walk around, we eat something to stop the nausea from the things seen today, use the restroom and come back ready to go.

“King Nicholas, we have failed you and the kingdom. These things should never have happened, and we can’t excuse our ignorance. If you remove us from the council, we understand and support your decision.” Elder Crawford announces

“I appreciate your acknowledgment and taking accountability. But we have both been ignorant of the situation and are not responsible. I don’t plan on removing you. I need your help to fix things” Nicholas says

“We are available for whatever you need us to do, Your Majesty” James says

We discussed the new plans for the kingdom and the council. We show them the map and the agreement all council members will sign upon acceptance of the role. With that we discussed the plans for removal of the council and taking down the packs participating in the trafficking ring. We discuss the plan and what Nicholas wants from them specifically. He introduced me as a council member and has us all take the oath he implemented along with signing the agreement. We discuss further concerns and plans, then proceed to dinner. Nicholas announces to the rest of the table that we have started the process, and we are now the start of the new Elder Council.

Elder James and Crawford leave the next morning along with Nicholas, Abel, Wilson and their mates. They are escorted back to the palace by the elite warriors and begin the process of planning for Friday’s meeting. Xander sent three omegas to act as Nicholas’s personal chefs, with the guise that he loved the food so much while he was there, so Xander sent them with him for the week as a gift to his cousin. Later that day, I received a blind copy of the email request for an Elder Council meeting at the palace on Friday at 3pm.
