Chapter 58

Alpha Derrick’s POV

Minus Alpha Ethan’s questioning of Anna’s abilities and his son ending up in the hospital, this meeting went on without a hitch. I am so happy because getting all these Alphas in one room could have gone a totally different way. I think this was also a good catalyst for the King to step up and take on the role he was born for. I am watching him layout his plan. He is so much more confident than he was the first day he came to Full Moon. I feel once we get rid of the council, he will make his father proud. The implementation of all of these plans will take a lot of work and time. But I think we have the support and the right people in place to make it happen. I listen to the King answer the few minor questions about his new council set-up and prepare to go on stage for our last presentation. I see Nicholas walk offstage and look at Anna, who will be presenting our plan of attack along with me in a few minutes. He has such love in his eyes for her, but it doesn’t look like she reciprocates those feelings. I will pray to the Goddess that things work out for them, even if they are not together.

I begin to walk to the stage entrance when the King comes to me.

“Alpha Derrick. I would like to quickly discuss something with you. As you heard from my presentation, I would like to choose one of the Elders, I feel this person should be the head of the council and my direct advisor. I still want all the members to keep each other accountable, but this person would work with me more directly. I would like to offer that position to you. I feel you possess the integrity for the role. After working with you and meeting your family, I know that you will not cower to me as the King but respect me in the role. Thus, being honest with me and helping me grow. I know you would want to discuss the offer with your family, but I ask for an answer before I leave tomorrow. I would want you present when I confront the other members”

I am shocked by this offer. I stand there staring at him before it registers that I am staring at the King.

“Thank you, your majesty. I appreciate your confidence in me to perform this role. Yes, I would like to discuss it with my family, and I will respond to you tomorrow”

We shake and I am still in shock. Just then, Xander announces Anna and I and I have to put that to the back for now. I walk out onto the stage with Anna and begin.

“My niece and I would like to present our plan for moving forward. We feel the attack on Dark Hollow and confronting the Elders should occur at the same time. We don’t want either to alert the other of what is going on. And the date that we have chosen is next week Saturday” I say

“Next Saturday is the 19th birthday of Alpha Clarence’s son Blake. This date allows me and my team access to the territory without a frontal attack of the pack. Once there, the plan is to take out the ranked members. I will be presenting Alpha Clarence with a formal challenge for Dark Hollow. We have the assistance of warriors from four packs to subdue and contain the pack members. The plan is to interview/interrogate the members and proceed with relocation or sending them to the council based on their activity and history” Anna says

“I apologize for interrupting; this is Alpha Frederick of the Light Rays Pack. You know that, as the heir of the original alpha family of Dark Hollow a formal challenge is not necessary?”

“Yes, I am aware. My fight with Clarenece is personal. I seek revenge for what he did to my parents. My need to address the ranked members is also revenge, which is why I will not include anyone else in the process. I would hate for anyone to get hurt helping me take my revenge”, Anna says

“At the same time that Annalisa and her team are at Dark Hollow; the King will be calling a meeting for all members of the council, at this time, he will be removing and disciplining those found guilty and having a discussion with those he has questions about. Once this is done, he will proceed with contacting the neighboring packs of the other participating packs with the plan of confronting them all within the week” I say

“If any of you were planning to attend the birthday party at Dark Hollow next week, please don’t change your plans. Besides, it looks suspicious to have a large number of people cancel. I will guarantee your safety off the territory grounds” Anna says

“What we do ask for assistance from you is for the help of the women we will be rescuing. This trafficking ring has been in existence for five years. We have documents supporting the fact that most of these women were sold to the same 20 packs. We plan to have a lot of women who need emotional support and therapy. We have space set up at both Full Moon and Crystal Lake. If there are any other packs that have space and services to provide for these women, we would appreciate your help and thank you in advance” I say

“That concludes the First Annual Alpha Summit. We want to thank everyone for taking the time to attend and look forward to many more positive meetings. The table to your far right has the current petitions to be submitted to the council. The back wall has the map of the kingdom divided into quadrants, so you know which quadrant you are in and your neighbors to begin preparing for nominations. There is also a list of the twenty packs to confront and their locations. If you are willing to help the women from one of those packs, please see Luna Teresa and Luna Tessa to the far left. Dinner will be presented in the ballroom at 7pm, formal attire required. Thank you again!” Xander says

There are cheers and applause as the meeting ends. I smile at the success.
