Chapter 32

Annalisa’s POV

All my family and friends are here at Full Moon to see me take the elite training exam today. I am a little nervous because I really want elite warrior status. I am comfortable in my skills as a warrior and confident in my abilities. I think I have done an amazing job in the last six months. So no matter what happens today, I am proud of myself. That being said, I want to be labeled as an elite warrior and get that tattoo. Once an elite warrior passes the test, they receive the warrior crest, which is a serpent and a sword tattoo on the right scapula. I plan for that to be my first tattoo, but not my last. I already have a drawing of one I want done of my parents' names on my forearm. And one of Ruby on my side. I have other ideas, but we’ll start with those three. There is a celebratory dinner afterward and then Uncle Derrick and Alpha Xander want me to sit in on a meeting. I also plan to discuss destroying Dark Hollow and what to do with the pack.

First the test; we have to run an obstacle course, do a weapons skill challenge, spar challenge in human form and then a hunt to get three clean kills on current elite warriors. Best scores and times are averaged, and then the top five become elite warriors. There are 30 contestants in this test. Other pack warriors can apply to Full Moon to become an elite warrior. The commitment is three years or three assignments, then if the warrior wishes, they can go back to their pack. They have fulfilled their obligation, but if there is ever a threat to the Kingdom, every elite warrior understands they are on deck to defend the werewolf kingdom.

“20 minutes till testing. You ready Ruby?” I link my wolf

“I’m always ready. This test is more for you” she replies

“I know. But knowing you are there for me gives me confidence” I say

“I am always here for you, Anna. You have done great in your training. The Goddess could not have chosen a better guardian or a better human for me” she says

“Thank you, Ruby, for everything. I love you”

“Love you too, girlfriend. Now go kick some ass”

Brian’s POV

We are at Full Moon to watch Annalisa kick ass in the elite warrior test. And as we all knew she would, she came in second among the top five. If those she beat only knew she just started training six months ago after giving birth and waking from a coma. Most people would have died or given up, but not her, and I am so proud of her. I have watched her grow as a person and an Alpha. She loves hanging out with the kids at the orphanage. Where Lucia connects with the younger kids, Annalisa gels with the older kids. She even helped a few find jobs, explaining to Alpha Derrick how they need to be independent and having their own money is a part of that. Since leaving the hospital, she has gone back to help and has learned a lot of first aid and trauma care from Dr Robert. She started her business degree to be able to take care of her father’s businesses. She’s unstoppable and the determination in her eyes is why she came in second.

I am waiting outside her room to escort her to the celebratory dinner. Everyone else had a date, and we didn’t want to be left out. Since Thane met Tessa, my parents and Gregory’s parents have been on us about finding our mates. One of our close friends, a lead warrior, recently found their mate. Troy and Yolanda recently met and identified as mates. Yolanda is one of the survivors from Tessa’s old pack. She was a warrior’s daughter and turned 18 two months ago. She and a few of the other survivors moved into the pack. There have been a lot of females disappearing, and we think it’s Dark Hollow and their trafficking ring. So now, Gregory and I are the only ones without a mate. Which I know the Goddess will provide me with one when it is right, but I am ready now. Unlike Thane, I have saved myself for my mate. And after seeing what he and Tessa had to go through with Rachel and a few other females in the pack I am glad. The last thing I want to do is explain to my mate that some crazy woman is after me because we had s*x, and she thought it was more. No, thank you! I know Annalisa rejected her mate, who was a real douche. I hope if she gets a second chance mate, they will appreciate the wonderful woman she is. She came out of her room wearing a red dress and red heels with her long black hair down to her butt. No matter what she wears, her eyes are always the first thing you see, they are a striking shade of blue that sparkles. She looks amazing. Anna is short at 5ft 2in and with her heels on she at least comes to my shoulder, and I am 6ft 3in, her heals are about four inches.

We enter the ballroom and Alpha Derrick, Thane, Luna Opal and Trevor start clapping. We are all proud of her accomplishments. We mingle a bit and then sit down for dinner. During dinner, Alpha Xander gives a speech to congratulate all the new elite warriors. They all came from different packs. As he introduced them, they would stand with their family and their Alpha’s. As the third winner is being introduced, the most alluring smell hits me. The smell of jasmine keeps getting stronger and stronger. Now my full attention is on finding that scent. Anna notices my attention is elsewhere and looks at me questionably

“My mate is here” I link her

“Where?” she asks now looking around with me

“Don’t know, but I smelled her when the warrior from Red Moon pack stood up”

“That’s Leo, he has a sister who was coming later due to being away at school. Let’s see when Xander finishes his speech” she links me

“I have saved the last winner for last. She came in second via her scores, but her story is one of amazement. She is allowing me to tell you a piece of it. This young lady is only 16, but I made an exception for her due to her talents. I first met her when she woke up after being in a coma for over two months after being brutally attacked. With determination and focus, she began training to make sure she or anyone else, never suffers the way she did. And in the span of six months, was able to train and qualify for the elite training test, and come in second place. Not only is she a fierce warrior, but also a kind and loving person. I would like you all to give a special hand to Annalisa Royal” Alpha Xander said

Once Alpha Xander was finished, some sat and continued eating where others got up to mingle. Anna and I went to the Red Moon pack table and there I saw the love of my life. She had pale skin with freckles, green eyes and red hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a white and green dress. Her scent was alluring, but her beauty was stunning.

“It’s her” I link Anna as we get to the table

“Hi Leo”

“Anna. I knew none of that stuff about you. Congratulations, that makes your win even more special”

“Thank you. I want to introduce you to someone. This is my friend and the future Beta of Crystal Lake pack Brian Norris. He is also your sister’s mate” Anna says

“Well, Brian, that may be true, but my sister Finley turns 18 tomorrow. So, when she can confirm that I have nothing to say about it. Here are our parents; Moira and Connor Murphy and the Alpha of Red Moon pack Alpha Sean Hughes.” Leo says

“It is very nice to meet you all” I shake hands and identify each person by name

“Ms. Finley, I respect that you are not yet 18, and I will wait, but would you open to dancing with me” I say with my hand out

“I would love to, Brian” she says taking my hand and standing

“Just FYI family, I will be 18 at midnight and if he is my mate I will be with him. And I don’t want to hear a thing from you, Leo. Talking for me like you’re my Da. Of course, you’ll have nothing to say about it, you don’t own me you Eijit” she said in her Irish accent while taking my hand and standing

“Anna, I hope your friend is ready because he has a feisty one there” I hear Alpha Sean say

We walk to the dance floor and sway to the slow music being played

“Tell me about yourself” Finley says

“What happened to the accent?” I ask

“We left Ireland when I was young. The accent mostly comes out when I’m upset or arguing a point. Which seems to be often with my brother” she says

“I like the accent. But I think I will like anything you say with or without an accent” I say staring at her beautiful green eyes

“Thank you. Now about you?”

“I turned twenty a month ago and will be completing my degree in business management in six months. I am the future Beta of Crescent Lake. I am an only child because my mother said I was too hardheaded, so she couldn’t take having another. And I have been waiting for you my whole life” I say

“Wow. I turn 18 in four hours. We moved to the US from Ireland ten years ago when Alpha Sean started his own pack. My father and brother are both warriors at Red Moon. I am going to school to be a bio-chemist. I started a year early and will be finishing classes in a year. I have to do an internship and was recently chosen to do that at Full Moon. I want a career, but I want a family too. I also have waited for you”

“You know the next four hours are going to be the longest of my life” I say

“Don’t worry because as soon as I know you are my mate, you are mine. I may be a virgin, but I have practiced to be ready for you.

No more dildo’s cause now I have the real thing” she says

“Really. You are very bold and straight forward. Aren’t you?” I say smiling at her comment

“When it’s something I want, yes”

“Good. I can’t wait!” I say winking at her

Annalisa’s POV

I can’t believe it. Brian met his mate and if what Leo and her parents say is true, he is in for a lot of fun. They say Finley is very independent, and she knows what she wants. She is blunt and sometimes says stuff before thinking. At the same time, she is loyal and committed. Once you are a friend, you never have to question where you stand with her. I just want her to make my friend happy and from the smiles on their faces, I think the Moon Goddess put the two right people together.

I am on the dance floor with Leo when someone interrupts our dance. I look behind him to see Vick

“Can I cut in?” he asks

“No” I cut in, stopping Leo from saying yes

“Annalisa, I would like to talk to you” he says

“Alpha Vick, we have nothing to talk about”

“Yes, we do. I am trying to be quiet and discrete about this. Can we talk or do I need to make a scene” he threatens

“Leo, thank you for the dance, but you can go. I don’t want you involved in whatever stupidness this is” I say to Leo

“Are you threatening me? Because I really don’t care about you making a scene” I say turning to Vick

“Annalisa, I think we got off on the wrong foot and there was a misunderstanding. I want us to try again” he says

“No”

“No. That’s it just, no?” he asks

“Yes, just no. There’s no reason for me to give a drawn-out explanation. I don’t want to be with you” I say and turn to walk away

“Are you serious? I apologized to you, and I don’t apologize to anyone” he yells as I walk away

“Actually, you didn’t apologize” I say turning around to face him

Now, because he is yelling, everyone is aware of our conversation. So, I guess that scene he threatened me with is occurring because the music has stopped and everyone is looking at us. Unfortunately for him, I don’t care, and I’m not easily embarrassed.

“You didn’t apologize. You said there was a misunderstanding. That’s not an apology. But it really doesn’t matter, I won’t change my mind”

“Fine b***h. I don’t want you anyway. I have p***y on demand in my pack. My father told me to get back with you because you’re a Royal, nothing more. Why would I want a used-up w***e like you? How do you think your admirers would feel if they knew what really happened, if they knew you……”

I stopped his rant with a roundhouse kick to the face, breaking his jaw and busting the side of his face. He fell to the ground holding his mouth and bleeding

“What’s the matter? Got nothing else to say? Kinda hard to talk with a broken jaw. Since you admitted you don’t want me and I sure as hell don’t want you, stay the f**k out of my way. Because if you ever try to disrespect me again, I WILL KILL YOU!”

“Alpha Xander, this man needs a doctor” I say

I walk out of the ballroom. I link my cousin to let me know what time the meeting is. I go back to my room to rest
