“You must have a death wish showing up here, Callen,” Kai fumed.
“Save the drama, kid. We both know I wouldn’t be here without cause.” Callen sauntered in the door as if he owned the place, his cockiness instantly annoying me a notch further.
“What are you doing here, Cal?” Maven asked. Kai did not miss the shortened version of his name, if his face was any indicator.
“What am I doing here?” He looked around at the 3 of us as if we were the crazy ones. “I told you when you took the girl, that if you screwed up- I’d be paying you a visit.”
