Amelia McGill is the daughter to the Alpha of the Croft Moon Pack. When she reaches 18 and finds her mate, she will be granted territory to run as her own. Alpha Browne, however has no intention of letting a little girl take is small pack away from him.

Lori is the family outcast from one of the families on Alpha Browne's Territory. Constantly being compared to her older sister and more than aware of Alpha Browne's outdated ways of leading, she is counting down the days until she can leave and join a more forwarded thinking pack.

However, when Amelia and Lori meet it is soon clear that they could be the answer to each others problems....and dreams.

Chapter 1
Amelia's Point Of View.. “Alpha Browne will see you now, please make your way to his office”.  I looked at my father and could see he felt the same way that I did about being here; that we would really rather be anywhere else. Before we were able to make it out of the seating area, the receptionist addressed us again. “Please remember to knock. Alpha Browne doesn’t like it when people don’t knock.” As I smiled and nodded our acknowledgement, the receptionist seemed very nervous and looked as though she was giving us that message, as if her life depended on it. I wondered if she had walked in without knocking, or whether she would be blamed if we entered unannounced. Alpha Browne had a reputation for running this pack as if it were a dictatorship. It still confused me until this day why my father gave Alpha Browne the time of day, let alone a small part of our Pack. I mean he told me why he did it, but that Doesn’t mean I understood it. “I know what you are thinking, Amelia, and we have already discussed this. As much as it pains me to, we have to dance to his tune whilst we are in his territory, “ my father warned me. He was trying to do his best Alpha voice and stare, but after a couple of seconds he smirked and gave me a wink. My father's full title is Alpha Stewart McGill. He is Alpha to the Croft Moon pack. Our pack is around 500 members strong and we are based just outside of Portland, Oregon. My mother, Serena, died just after my 1st birthday. Loosing his mate almost killed my father, the mate bond between them was so strong. He was unable to even look at me until I was almost 2 and kept away from me. I spent most of my time with the other female wolves in the pack. It was only during a game of hide and seek, when I hid for a good couple of hours, did he realise that we needed each other more than we realised. When the shewolves couldn’t find me, they told my father. He told me the feeling was like losing my mother all over again. When he eventually found me in the back of the kitchen pantry with a bag of lollipops, he cried with relief. From that point, we became inseparable. My father never took another mate, so it's just been him and me. I don’t remember my mother, but my father would always tell me stories about her. He said he did it to keep her memory alive, but I think it also helped him. He always seemed relaxed when he talked about her and never looked sad. He just seemed to be happy to have had the time he had with her. Yes he was upset that she was taken too soon, but he wasn’t bitter. Even the thought of her calmed him. That’s how strong their bond was. “It's not really his territory though, is it Dad?” I challenged. My father looked at the floor and I knew that I may just be approaching the line, not quite over it but it was very close. He took a very deep breath and looked back at me. In a very quiet and over-pronounced voice he said “Browne Hamson will be Alpha of this pack until you, my girl, reach your 18th birthday and you have found a mate. However, until this happens, you will treat the Alpha with the respect that you treat any of the other Alphas that we do business with. Do I make myself clear?” “Yes dad, I mean Alpha. I mean Alpha Dad” I spluttered out. Yes, he was my Dad, but he was also the Alpha and could reduce me to a gibbering wreck with one look. I decided from that point just to keep my mouth shut and speak when spoken to. I really did not like Alpha Browne and I just wanted to get this meeting over with. I was 16 and wanted to be back at my pack with my friends. We left the seating area and rounded the corner to where the offices for the Ranked Wolves were situated. There were only two offices which struck me as strange. Surely there should be at least four and I said as much to my dad. “The Beta and Gamma share an office, Alpha Brown says its character building,” he said, smirking. “His Luna apparently doesn’t need one”, he added. We approached Alpha Brownes office and I really wanted to just march straight in, but remembering the ladies' face, I thought better of it. My Dad turned and looked at me and said “Brace yourself Amelia, its show time.” With that, he gave the mandatory knock on the door and plastered the biggest fake smile on his face you have ever seen. There was a loud ENTER from the other side of the door and I knew that this was not going to be fun.
