971 Words
Reiley POV It has been a week since I stormed out of my parents’ house and I still haven’t taken either of my parents’ phone calls or returning their message for that matter. How could they stood so low to hook me up? Even my own best friend doesn’t do that… Ring…Ring…Ring “Yes, Bella?” “Sir…Mr. Lewis is here to see you!” “Send him in…” Chris walked in shortly…Chris has a short brownish hair and he is 5’9 two inches shorter than me…with blue eyes like my beautiful wife that I haven’t had the chance to check on since I have been away for work for the past three days. “I cannot believe that Bella has been working here for 3 years now and you haven’t banged her yet…” “Not everyone is a s*x walking in a stick like you Lewis…what do I owe this pleasure for you to drop by so early on a Monday morning?” I didn’t give him the courtesy to look him in the eyes because I know that his eyes are full of lust for my personal assistant. “Someone is blue today…” he said in a mocking tone “You see if you hit the club with me last night you will have got yourself a snack to offload that blue weight.” He said taking his seat in front of me. “Chris…I am busy! Just tell me what you came here to say and take your leave…” He raised his hands in a sign of surrender and took a deep breath “Your siblings and parents sent me here!” he said in a worried tone “Not interested…tell them I don’t have time for backstabbers that hook me up with any gold diggers out there,” I told him taking off my reading glasses “Wait they did what?” he asked shocked I don’t blame him…I still can’t wrap my figures to it also. “That doesn’t sound like them…I mean I would understand if mom did that to me but Jenny? No ways man…” “Way man…now if you will excuse me I have a lot of work to do.” I put back my reading glasses. “Wait, did you find any bride so far?” he asked getting himself comfortable in his chair. I grin thinking of how married I am… “Well…Yes and No!” I said giving out the best grin ever “Okay…that’s not an answer I was looking for. What does ‘Yes and No’ mean man?” “It means I am a married man and my wife doesn’t know that she’s married to me.” “What??? For how long have you been married and why didn’t you tell me? And most importantly who is the lucky lady that sweeps you off your feet?” “I have been busy and I think I am the lucky one here man…Kate is perfect!” I said drooling thinking of my wife. “You sound like someone who is in love man…” Chris said making a gaging face. “Shut up…now leave my office I have a meeting with the head of departments after lunch…I need to get ready and review everything before then. “Fine…but I want details later as soon as you are done with work.” He stood up from his chair and fixed his jacket. “Sure thing man…” I weaved at him and focused back on my work .*.*.* Kate POV Ring…Ring…Ring… Kate: Dr. Brown speaking Agent: Good morning Dr. Brown…this is Gertrude from Remax housing, I am calling regarding your application for one of our housing units that you applied for. Kate: Yes, do you need me to come and finalise paperwork? I asked so excitedly that I got the apartment… Agent: I am sorry, I am afraid your application came back unsuccessful Dr. Kate: wait how? I meet all the criteria mention there… Agent: it appears that you lied on your forms saying that you are single while you are clearly married… Kate: Sorry am WHAT? I yelled out loud Agent: Married! The agent deadpanned my marital status Kate: That has to be a mistake; I have never been married before… Agent: Not according to the state of California… The redheaded hang up on me…Fuck her I am not married. How dare she ruin my Monday morning like that… I went on the student portal to cancel all my classes for the day and took my bag and car keys with my phone typing an SOS text to Nessa I walked out of the university building and walked to the parking lot and got into my white Audi rs3 2020 and drove towards Nessa’s workplace. That agent’s words kept ringing onto my mind…’ how can I be married?’ I can’t be married…if I am, then I am screwed. I need to fix this before they find out! I started to pray…’ Lord, Father God…please let me not be married to an old man who is in his last stage of joining the afterlife…or anyone at all’
