Chapter 14

970 Words
All hell broke loose.   The rest is but a blur.   People were screaming instead of cheering Levi and Cody on.   All I remember is that an ambulance came because the two of them were badly injured.   Everything happened so fast.   "I guess we won't be seeing Levi for a while." Dylan shrugged.   "It will probably be a lot quieter without Cody around too." Evan added.   "We should visit the guy at the hospital after school." Was all I could manage to say.   I mean, it's not like it's the first time that something like this has happened.   "Blood's still dripping from your nose..." Mason pulled out a handkerchief and wiped the blood away.   "Dude, stop flirting and let's go check up on Levi already." Caleb hissed.   "Right." Mason gave me his hanky before leaving.   "Just so you know, I wasn't flirting. Just being a concerned citizen." I heard Mason explain to Caleb.   "Lamest excuse ever." Caleb chuckled.   "Let's get you to the clinic." Dylan said seriously.   "I'm fine though." I mumbled.   ******   We visited our buddy at the hospital just like I said.   "You did good, kid. I'm proud of you. Not that I'm encouraging you to go crazy on my behalf." I fixed Cody's wig in place.   "Hey, everything I do, I do it for you." He grinned.   "We brought you some fruits to nibble on in case you get hungry in the middle of the night." Dylan said.   "Aww, I feel so loved!" Cody grinned even wider.   "Evan, kindly please remove his makeup? He's going to give children nightmares with that look." I sighed.   "I'd rather you do it, Erin. You're the one who put it on in the first place." Cody said.   "The guy obviously just wants you to touch him. Skinship, he calls it. I'll do it, boss." Evan squinted his eyes at Cody.   "Damn you." Cody pouted.   "Now, now, don't be stubborn. Just give us a call if you need anything else okay?" I told him.   ******   Just when I was getting ready for bed that night, the door busted open.   "Levi's getting your red-headed friend expelled." Landon said.   "There you are. You always come and go as you please. Being way too mysterious is not healthy, little bro."   "Get dressed. We need to go to the hospital to talk to Levi." He ignored what I just said.   "Why?"   "You don't want your friend to get kicked out, right?" He rolled his pretty blue eyes.   "Of course not. And I should probably give Levi another beating while we're at it." I smiled.   "Just hurry up and change." He turned his back towards me.   "You know, you can always go out and come back in once I've finished changing." I told him.   "No time. Don't worry, I don't have any interest in your body."   I quickly changed into a white shirt with a denim jacket over it paired with some faded pants.   "I'm good."   "Now let's sneak out the window." He headed towards my window and jumped off from the third floor without any second thoughts then I followed suit.   "Nice leather jacket by the way." I complimented him.   "Sometimes, I think you're weird." Landon shook his head.   "And you're not? What's with the sexy photos of you that you keep sending me, huh? The first one I can believe that you sent it as a mistake but the second and the third topless pictures of you? I don't think so." I shook my head at him.   "Let's just get to the hospital before we freeze to death."   "Changing the subject I see." I continued to question him about the inappropriate photos.   ******   "I'm here to make a negotiation." I told Levi who was on his hospital bed.   "About my friend, Cordy."   "You can kiss her ugly ass face goodbye." Levi glared.   "Well, you started it!" I was about to plunge to him but Landon pulled me back.   "You're lucky it wasn't me you had to face. I don't think I'd be able to stop pummeling into your pretty face." I added.   "Did you just call me 'pretty'?" His eyes lit up.   "That's beside the point!" I'm starting to get mad again.   "Okay, let's hear it. What about this 'negotiation' of yours?" He finally came to his senses.   "I'll take the blame for what Cordy did. You can expel me from your school for all I care." As a leader, it's my job to look after my gang.   "Where's the fun in that?" He thought out loud.   "I'll think about it." Levi sighed as he massaged the bridge of his nose.   Just then, my phone rang.   "Hold on. Hello?" I answered.   "I need you." It was Cody.   "It's 11:30."   "So?" He yawned.   "This better be good." I was at the venue anyway so I might as well go see him.   "Can you read me a bedtime story?" Cody greeted me once I entered his room.   "I'm out of here."   ******   We got back to the house at around midnight.   Apparently, climbing up the third story was harder than jumping down.   "Did you hear that? Someone's coming. Quick, into the bed NOW." Landon whispered as soon as we landed back into my room.   "What are you guys doing?" A shirtless Malcolm was now standing by the door. He was only wearing his gray boxers.   "Cuddling." Was all I could think of to say.   We covered our bodies under the sheets so that he couldn't see us all dressed up.   "Your brother had a nightmare." I added.   "What are YOU doing?" Landon asked him back.   "I thought I heard footsteps coming from Erin's room on my way to the bathroom. Hey, you never cuddle with me whenever you get nightmares." Malcolm pointed out.   "Why would I want to cuddle with a dude? I have some pride you know."
