I can barely breathe down here in the basement. My heart’s pounding, and I’m standing on the edge of something terrible, just waiting for Ryker to break the silence.
“Are you all right...? Ri,” Tyler’s voice cuts through the tension, his eyes locking onto mine. I manage a weak nod, but my body betrays me—everything feels frozen. Ryker just stands there, his gaze flickering between us, unreadable.
