I accept the divorce
The little girl suddenly crossed in front of his moving car, but thankfully he saw her just on time and instantly stepped on his brake.
He got out and walked to the front of the car where the girl was. He looked into her eyes, and was stunned when it felt as if he was staring into the eyes of his ex-wife.
"Are you hurt? Who is your mother?"
"My mom's name is Lucia."
"Lucia Lucchelli?"
The girl nodded, and Knox believed this was a nightmare.

Six years ago,
Lucia’s POV
I could still feel the warmth of his kisses on my body, and the supposed love I thought I felt when I was in his arms that morning. And now, here I was with my heart panting erratically while I struggled to control my breathing, as my husband, Knox Kofler, was asking me for a divorce in front of his entire family and the press. All the flashlights from the media cameras were focused on my face, while I was still processing the request from my still-husband.
Why was he doing this? Why in this situation?
"Lucia..." he called my name as he held out the papers in his hand.
"I accept," I responded, maintaining a calm composure, and my answer drew dozens of astonished looks from some of the attendees, including my husband.
"What?"
"I accept the divorce, without any objection or request."
Suddenly, there was a commotion within the crowd, as one of the guests, whom I recognized immediately, climbed onto the stage and approached the microphone without breaking eye contact with me. He took my hand in front of my husband;
"Lucia Lucchelli, please marry me."
The drama escalated, transforming the evening into a scene of conflicting emotions. The decision to accept the divorce was now countered by a new marriage proposal, and my world seemed to have turned upside down.
