#10 The Accident

Pride comes back with two full glasses of red wine, puts one glass on the floor and hands the other one to Busi while she slumps back on their soft bed and stretches her legs out. "Please pass me my drink from the floor and get on with the juicy news." Pleads Pride

"You know that woman did not even ask for my flat's directions, she just drove straight to here." Says Busi as her eyes widen

"Told you from day one of your interview when you told me that she couldn't stop smiling at you that she fancies you." reassures Pride

"Come on Pride, the poor woman is just being nice."

"Nice?" Pride bores into her eyes. "Wait until you find her head in between your thighs." Pride giggles and continues to sip her drink as if those words did not come out of her mouth.

"Eeu! That's gross." Busi's face turns sour as if she has tasted something bitter. "Give a woman some break, besides, she is as straight as a ruler." she adds

"Hmmm, do not say I did not warn you. What makes you think she did not ask for your directions, except for the fact that she is originally from here and she is familiar with every place around here?" She opens her eyes widely, waiting for Busi to respond but Busi is out of words. "Because she has been assessing you from day one she laid eyes on you." Adds Pride

"But…but." Busi stammered

"But what Busi?"

"But if that's the case, how did she know that I am into women.?" Busi's cellphone rings, distracting Pride to respond to her question.

"Good evening ma'am, is this Ms Bus..i..s.." The woman's voice behind the phone is stammering, struggling to pronounce Busi's names.

"Yes that is me, Busisiwe Dube." Busi articulates her names. "Who is this?" she asks further, shock immensely masking her face.

"Ma'am, do you know Miss Chloe Hemilton by any chance, she has been involved in a head on collision accident

and fortunate enough your number is the only one we managed to get?" Says the police officer

"Oh my God, where did the accident happen?" Busi quickly passes the phone to Pride so she could get the directions right.

Busi hastily requests an Uber which then took both her and Pride to the accident scene within a blink of an eye.

Unfortunately when they get to the scene, Chloe had already been taken in to the hospital by the paramedics. She was in a critical condition and sustained severe injuries. Busi then rings back the number which called her earlier on and they told her the hospital in which Chloe has been admitted to.

When she and Pride get to the hospital, already the hospital is flooded with the people from the media and their cameras, making it difficult for other patients and visitors to enter the building. That way both Busi and Pride also could not get through but had to wait outside the hospital's building together with the other people.

Busi can not stop sobbing, even Pride does not know what to do anymore.

"What if she does not make it Pride, I'm to blame." Sniffs Busi

"Do not think like that, she will make it. Stop being hard on yourself, you didn't do anything wrong." Pride embraces her while softly wiping off the tears from her eyes

"Are you aware that this whole accident happened soon after she dropped me off at my place, Pride?" She cries hysterically. "She should not have given me a lift, none of this would have happened Pride."

"I think we should get back home, we will come back tomorrow, surely you will be fine by then." Says Pride with such conviction as she takes out her cell phone to request the Uber.

Just when she is busy on her phone, there comes out Sandra out of the hospital's gate driving with her husband Heaven. Luckily she was able to spot Busi even though she is engulfed in Pride's arms and instructs Heaven to stop the car next to them.

"Oh my God, Busi, you are also here." Says Sandra climbing out of the car, moving closer to them. "Oh my God, look at you, you are crying". She adds, looking directly into Busi's red eyes. She opens her arms to hug her also.

"She has been crying from the time we got here. She can't stop blaming herself." Adds Pride

"No man, she shouldn't be, Chloe is under the doctors' supervision and she will be fine. She has sustained severe injuries though and not yet in the condition of being seen by anyone none other than family members. I was also allowed to go in because I am her Personal Assistant." Says Sandra and continues to squeeze Busi tightly.

"How are you guys going back home, you can hop in the car, my husband and I will drop you off." Adds Sandra

The three of them indeed climb inside the car, with Busi and Pride occupying the back seats, of course Heaven being the driver. Busi cried the entire trip to their flat while resting peacefully onto Pride's lap
