Chapter 19
Vanessa followed closely behind Emma Jane, grateful for the faint glow coming from around the corner - at least until she heard a creepy humming sound originating in the same place. Inwardly cringing, Vanessa stayed close on Emma Jane's heels, ready to use her air magic at any sign of danger. Weird, she thought, noticing how the hallway was almost a carbon copy of the house they'd been in the night before. Emma Jane peeked around the first doorway they came to and Vanessa held her breath when she caught a glimpse of what was on the other side.
If she'd thought there'd been too many candles in the open room the night before, this room outdid that to nth degree. There must've been over a thousand candles. Some hung from the walls, on the floor, some were even arranged in a chand
