CHAPTER 76
Duke Michael and Duchess Annabelle were beaming from ear to ear as they watched Tatiana and Noah's interaction. They also didn’t expect His Highness to be this sweet, but most importantly, they were happy for Tatiana.
When Tatiana expressed her desire to marry His Highness, the duke and duchess agreed without any fuss. However, they only agreed to it because it was Tatiana's wish and not because it was something they wanted.
The duke and duchess, like any other parents, merely wanted their daughter to be happy. They wanted her to enjoy a happy life free of hardships and to marry a man who would love and care for her as much as they did. That is why they were heartbroken for their daughter when they learned of her one-sided love for His Highness.
But seeing how His Highness was finally showing interest for Tatiana, Duke Michael and Duchess Annabelle felt relieved and pleased.
My daughter is finally getting the love she wanted… Duke Michael beamed in his mind. But, didn’t Tatiana want to break off their engagement? Did she change her mind? Hmm… Well, given how happy they appeared to be together right now, I don't think I need to be concerned about that anymore. I should tell His Majesty about this.
Duke Michael cleared his throat and composed himself.
“Ah, we won’t hold you two back anymore. You should leave now.” He said and grinned. He then turned to Noah and patted his shoulder. “Your Highness, please take care of my daughter.”
“Don’t worry, your grace. I will take care of my fiancé even without you telling me.” His Highness replied and glanced at Tatiana. He wasn’t showing any expression, but Tatiana thought he sounded arrogant...yet alluring.
Duke Michael and Duchess Annabelle looked very pleased by His Highness' response, while Tatiana only became shy and averted her gaze.
How can he say that so casually? Tatiana thought to herself as she tried to calm her fast heartbeat.
Noah and Tatiana boarded the carriage and left after a few more reminders from the duke and duchess.
As they passed through the Cromello's Residence gates, the two of them were silent inside the carriage. After a few more moments, Tatiana couldn’t take it anymore and spoke first, breaking the silence.
“Your Highness, where are we going?” she asked.
Noah didn’t reply for a few seconds then said,
“Do you have somewhere you wanted to go?”
Tatiana shook her head. “Not that I think of.”
“Then, we’ll go according to my plan,” Noah said and smirked at her.
Tatiana looked at him, confused.
“What plan, Your Highness?”
“You’ll see,” Noah answered simply.
Tatiana didn’t say anything more after that and looked outside the window. She tightened her hold on the bouquet.
His Highness was definitely acting weird. To think he would give me flowers—not to mention, lavender roses…Is he actually serious about this ‘date’?
Even though Tatiana wasn’t that knowledgeable about flowers, she, at least, knows what lavender roses meant in this world.
Lavender roses symbolize royalty and splendor. This fact alone was such a big deal in the Alvania Empire that only royalties can own lavender roses. If a non-royal dares to plant a seed of lavender roses in their garden, they could be arrested right away, and their crime would be mocking the Imperial Family.
Anyways, since it was Noah who gave lavender roses to Tatiana, she’s not regarded guilty of this crime. It simply indicates that Noah desired for her to be a member of the royal family.
To put it another way, His Highness was officially proposing to her.
