CHAPTER 16
The next day, Tatiana was feeling very flimsy. Her head hurts so bad, and her body feels very heavy.
“Are you okay, my Lady?” Mia asked worriedly.
Tatiana nodded and weakly sat up. Her throat was feeling dry. And she has a runny nose and a cough.
“I-I'm okay.” she managed to say.
Mia approached her and touched her forehead.
“You have a high fever, my lady! I’ll call the doctor right away!” Mia fret. She turned around and run outside before Tatiana could even stop her.
Tatiana leaned back to her bed.
She was strained from the ball, and she also slept very late last night. Aside from that, she had a nightmare about the night she died, so that might explain her sudden fever. No matter how much she trained, Tatiana’s body is originally weak that she gets sick easily.
Last night, she was worried about Noah and Beatrice. She wanted to badly know if they already progressed like in the novel, so she couldn't sleep all night.
As much as she wanted to change her destiny, Tatiana doesn't want to change a lot in the novel. Who knows what might happen if things didn't go like how it's supposed to be.
She only wanted to avoid the unpleasant death of herself and her family. She doesn't want to end up like how Tatiana did in the novel. She's not the villainess, and she doesn't like to be one.
Tatiana let out a cough again when the door opened. It revealed a man, who looked like the doctor, Mia, the duchess, and Aaron.
“Tati! Are you okay?” The duchess cried out as she hastily approached Tatina and checked her temperature.
Tatiana nodded and smiled weakly. She currently looked very frail and pale that made the people in her room more worried.
“I’ll check her condition now. Please excuse me, your excellency.” The doctor said and approached Tatiana. The duchess took a step back to give him space.
The doctor then proceeded to do his job. A while later, he took a step back and let out a sigh.
“My Lady has a high fever, but thankfully, it doesn’t seem serious.” The doctor said. “My lady, you must have over-exerted yourself last night that your body wasn’t able to handle it. I advise for you to take a rest, and please drink the medicine I’ll prescribe.”
Tatiana nodded and the doctor excused himself afterward.
“I’ll go now. Please take care, my lady.”
“Thank you, doctor.”
When the doctor left, the duchess approached Tatiana and caressed her face. Aaron, on the other hand, was only looking at her with emotionless eyes.
“You shouldn’t have come to the ball last night...” the duchess muttered as she looked at the pale Tatiana worriedly.
“It’s okay, mother. I’ll get better. I’m sorry for worrying you.” Tatiana weakly uttered.
The Duchess shook her head and smiled.
“I’ll let you rest now. Please get better soon, my daughter.”
After that, the duchess went outside and Mia followed behind her. Aaron, on the other hand, was still standing beside her bed.
They were surrounded by a long silence. Aaron was still looking intently at Tatiana, while Tatiana's eyes wandered around the room as she felt uncomfortable
“Don’t get sick.” Aaron suddenly said after several minutes of just staring. He then turned around and walked out of the room.
Tatiana was stunned but later on, smiled at his gestures.
He might not show it, but she knows Aaron was extremely worried.
Tatiana went back to bed and rested.

Later in the day, Aaron walked into the prince’s office. He was called to report for the mission he recently did.
“Your Highness, I’m sorry I’m late.” Aaron started. He was late because he still made sure that Tatiana was comfortable and she was taking her medicine on time.
Noah raised an eyebrow at him, quietly asking why he was late. Aaron sighed and walked closer to Noah’s desk.
“My sister was sick, so I had to take care of some things,” Aaron explained.
Noah alerted at the mention of Tatiana. He looked at Aaron with worried eyes, that immediately vanished and turned back to his usual cold eyes.
Tatiana is sick?
He cleared his throat before asking.
“What happened?” He asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
“The doctor said she has fatigue. Good thing, it’s not that serious.”
Noah secretly sighed in relief.
She must have overstrained herself last night...
“I see... I hope she gets better soon.” Noah said and Aaron nodded.
Noah was thinking of whether he should visit her later or not and what he should give her when Aaron talked again.
“Ah, about the mission you gave me. I have confirmed it with my own eyes, and they are indeed doing something suspicious.” Aaron reported.
The mission he was given was concerning the Kingdom of Broa. Recently, they have been doing something that may be threatening to the empire, so Noah thought he has to look into it.
Noah’s brows furrowed. He only has suspicions, but if it is indeed true that they are planning something, he shouldn't let it off the hook.
“I figured. Make sure to find out what they are planning. I have a bad feeling about it.” Noah ordered.
“As you wish, your highness. I’ll go now.”
Aaron left and Noah pondered over their conversation.
The Kingdom of Broa is known for its hostile attitude towards the Alvania Empire. Although the Alvania Empire ranks first when it comes to resources and power, the Kingdom of Broa is not to be underestimated.
They are next to Alvania Empire, and it would really be a tough fight if a war started between the two.
But Noah hoped his suspicions were not true. They just finished a war, and it would give them a disadvantage if another war started so soon.
Noah sighed and pushed the thought aside.
It won’t happen. For the empire, I cannot let it happen.
He is worried for the empire, and at the back of his mind, he is especially worried about Tatiana.
