CHAPTER 70
“Is there any problem?” Noah asked, coldly.
Aaron froze at his tone, then later shook his head.
“N-no, your highness. I was just not…expecting it.” He reasoned and laughed awkwardly.
He still couldn’t process what he had just learned.
The cold Prince, who was indifferent towards women and doesn’t believe in love, is going out to meet a lady. And it’s not just a simple meeting, they are going out for a date—a real date!
This was certainly a big deal, extremely so that it could be written in the history book of the Alvania Empire.
Noah cleared his throat and signaled the door at Aaron.
“You can leave now,” He said, and he returned his attention to his papers.
Aaron was hesitating a bit. He scratched his head, then later bowed and left.
Meanwhile, Noah was still thinking of what he should do for tomorrow. He was extremely anxious that he wasn’t able to focus on his work anymore.
What should I do?
.
Meanwhile, Tatiana was also worried about her date with His Highness tomorrow.
This is her first time going out on a date. Even in her previous life, she never had a date before—not even with Carl, her fiancé. As such, she has no idea what she should do tomorrow.
What do they do on a date? Do they just go out and eat and talk? And why did His Highness ask me out in the first place?
Tatiana never had a good night's sleep after that night. She attended Baron Miller’s court hearing the next day, but she couldn't even concentrate since she was preoccupied with questions about why His Highness had asked her out.
What was His Highness thinking? He couldn’t possibly have feelings for me, right?
Tatiana shook her head at that thought.
No, that’s impossible! How could he? He's destined with Lady Beatrice. Besides, I’m living as the villainess of this novel, he should hate me… and not like me, right?
Tatiana sighed.
It’s impossible to know what His Highness was thinking. The best thing she could do was to ask His Highness personally tomorrow.
Now, Tatiana was back to her first concern. What should she do tomorrow?
I should buy him a gift… right? She pondered.
After a while, Mia entered her room.
“My lady, the carriage is ready,” She reported.
Tatiana turned to her and nodded.
“Alright, I’ll go now,” She said.
She placed her comb down on her vanity table and looked at herself again through the mirror.
Today, she chose a modest sky blue outdoor dress to complement her silver hair. And because she’s going to walk around the streets a lot today, she didn’t wear any pieces of jewelry to avoid attracting attention.
Tatiana went out and walked towards the carriage, Mia following behind her. Sir Charles was already waiting for them in front of the carriage. Since she’s not in disguise today, she needed to have a knight accompanying her, and Sir Charles happened to be not busy today.
“Good morning, my lady," Sir Charles greeted and bowed.
“Good morning,” Tatiana greeted back and smiled. “I hope I didn’t disturb your work by accompanying me today.” She added.
“Don’t worry, my lady. I am your personal knight, so of course, I’ll accompany you wherever you go.”
Tatiana smiled at his response.
“Thank you, Sir Charles.” She said.
Tatiana entered the carriage, followed by Mia and Sir Charles. After that, their journey started without much problem.
Tatiana planned to go out to town today and look for a gift she could give to His Highness. She was more than capable of ordering from her home, as the daughter of the empire's greatest Duke. However, because she was stumped as to what to buy His Highness, she decided to go out and shop by herself.
Besides, she could also use this opportunity to check out the central plaza, which was the site of the bombing. She heard it was being cleaned up already, but the victims' memorial was held there, and Tatiana wanted to visit it.
Tatiana looked outside the window. Because their carriage has the Cromello’s crest on it, they gained the people’s attention as they pass through the streets of the capital. Some just took a glance at them. But most of them stopped from what they’re doing just to try and see who was in the carriage.
Tatiana smiled when she saw a child pointing at them while enthusiastically saying something to his mother. That child reminded her of the one she saved during the bombing.
Wait…child during the bombing?
Tatiana looked closely at their faces. Then, her face lit up when she realized it was indeed them.
It’s them! That was the child I rescued, and behind him was his mother, who I rescued as well! She exclaimed in her head.
Tatiana looked at them with enthusiasm. It was such a coincidence to see them there. But…
Her smile faded when she remembered something.
There was no way they will remember me. I wore a mask and cloak during that time. Not to mention, it was night time so they couldn’t have possibly seen my face.
Tatiana sighed.
She was extremely happy to see the people she had saved, but she was also saddened that they couldn’t remember her. She wanted to talk to them and asked them how they were doing after the incident. However, they don’t know it was her who saved them. If she suddenly approached them, they might run away in fear or think the lady of House Cromello was strange.
“My lady, are you okay?” Mia asked when she noticed Tatiana looking gloomy. Sir Charles also looked at her.
Tatiana glanced at them and gave them a small smile.
“I’m fine. I just remembered something.” She reasoned. Tatiana looked back outside the window, the child and his mother were already getting farther and farther from them.
In her previous life, Jane was never brave. She spent much of her life training with Master William, but she never had the courage to put her abilities to use. She was physically strong, but mentally, she was weak. That was also why she was never able to get away from the Dela Vega family.
However, she woke up as Tatiana, whose ending was already destined to be horrible. Aside from that, Tatiana was the villainess, and her life was designed to have plenty of challenges.
Her new life has given her several reasons to be courageous. It was inevitable, but she was grateful for it nonetheless. She at least became brave and changed herself for the better.
Now, she was more capable of protecting herself, the people around her, and even the people in need.
Out of all the things that happened to her for the past year, she could say that being able to change herself and live the life she wanted was the best thing that could happen to her.
