Of course, our activities the night before were among the top news stories when I woke up around mid-morning. The Mordanians, of course, had portrayed our sabotage of the construction site as the work of extremists bent on spreading intolerance for religious freedom. Most Daqtarians would know better, though, and that was all that mattered to me. Interestingly, that wasn’t all. The most surprising bit of news was that the Mordanians were backing down from constructing the center on top of the shrine. Instead, they would be building the center a little farther away. That was an even bigger victory than I’d expected. We’d successfully convinced them, somehow, to keep the shrine intact.
