I hadn’t wanted to tell anyone about my date with Talrun, but it hadn’t escaped Linda’s notice.
“So… I saw you out last night with that alien,” she said slyly over lunch.
My heart skipped a beat, since I hadn’t realized anyone had seen us. But I should have figured they would, since we’d stayed in the vicinity of the hospital.
“Uh, yeah,” I said, unable to see any point in denying it. “He offered to show me around.”
“That was nice of him,” she said, looking at me pointedly.
“What?” I asked. “It’s literally my first time exploring an alien world. I feel like getting a tour from one of the locals is a good idea.”
“Oh, it definitely is,” Linda said. “It’s just this particular local is ridiculously hot.”
