Daqtar was very similar to Earth in many respects. They had plants, a blue sky, cities and architecture like ours. And we were sexually compatible. Despite the differences, I found it a familiar place to be.
All that familiarity flew out the window the moment this golden being appeared in the room with us and told us, with an ethereal, stern voice that came from everywhere and nowhere at once, that our bond was blessed. Whatever that meant.
I wasn’t a particularly religious person but this seemed a lot like some kind of religious event. Except instead of me feeling like this was all in my head, it was clearly happening in real life.
