I was such an ass. I can’t believe I told Athena we shouldn’t kiss. I basically told her that I didn’t want her. That was a lie because I do want her. She is all I can think about. To her this looked like a rejection. I needed to fix this.
If she’s mad at me there is no way for me to keep her safe. Tomorrow we start our so-called jobs here. We have to act like a happily married couple. If we seem suspicious this will never work.
