Quickly, the startled group came alert and began to run toward Naomi as she was being lifted into the air by the huge bird.
Drago was in the air, and on the bird before the creature knew what hit it. A shrill shriek erupted from the giant bird as Drago bit into the leg clutching Naomi. The creature’s large head whipped down at Drago and knocked him loose with a powerful blow, causing Drago to somersault through the air.
When the bird struck Drago, it also struck Naomi knocking her unconscious. She hung like a limp rag doll from the giant talons.
Yaneth and Nordaal raced toward the area where the bird and Drago were fighting. They kept their eyes on the still form of Naomi dangling helplessly above them. As the creature turned in the sky, they tried to follow it on the ground.
