“Down the steps,” the voice ordered Mac and the others, but its voice sounded less irritated than before.
There was only one set of steps in the small dome-shaped room. The green light glowed from two long tubes overhead that circled the room and disappeared down a steep, winding stairwell.
“Wow, this is awesome!” Danny was the first to reach the steps and to see the sight below them.
It was a mammoth room with machines of all types encased in myriad displays of lights that blinked and sparkled continuously. There was a strange, but muted humming noise that was generated by the massive machines. Large walkways, lined with railings, ran the length and breadth of the room, and at various levels throughout.
