Kess and the others watched in amazement as the ship appeared to glide down a vast, long tunnel where tiny vistas of lights lined walls of steel. There was an occasional loud boom and the ship would slow, shudder for a moment, and then continue a journey to the unknown. Finally, the ship came to a full stop. “It is time to leave,” Jhondar gestured for the small group to follow him. “We will take you to the guest quarters. It is very basic, but you will be quite comfortable there.” A metal gangplank slid out from the ship and attached itself to the dock. They followed Jhondar without saying a word. The dock where they landed was made of metal plates, laced with metal rivets. The walls were made of the same kind of metal and had long, thin windows that ran along the top. Kess watched Jhon
