Chapter Fifteen

I am so happy to see my mum and Paige again. It"s been months since I last saw them. Paige said she has
something to tell me and I asked she gives me hints but no, she wouldn"t. I sit watching her closely. Why wouldn"t she tell me now?
"I"m pregnant. And I"m freaking out right now. I don"t know if Zach wants a baby. And I don"t want to
marry him because of the baby. I don"t know if he"ll leave me the moment I tell him I"m carrying his baby. And..." She was talking quickly.
"Calm down. You are pregnant. That is good news. I"m going to be an aunt very soon. You are keeping it
right? You have to."
She sadly looks at me. She looks else where and says," And if he doesn"t want this?"
"You won"t be the first single mother around... Lol, you"ll be fine. Talk to him first. Please."
She nods and I rub her shoulders. I know Zach loves her and he"ll want the baby. She"s just being
paranoid.
"So when are you telling mum?"
"I already did!!!"
What? She did!!!
"So I"m the last to know!!!"
"Oh please, Zach is not aware, his brother isn"t. And neither his parents too."
"So Esmeralda knows. Of course!!! I"m the married one so I"m out, right."
"What?! No!!! Don"t be jealous. You always come first."
I smile. I only needed to hear her say that. She smiles back at me.

After work, Paige goes off to bed. I see how tired she is. She"s nervous because Zach is coming over. She sighs as she eats.
"Hey, everything will be fine. Just tell him."
"Will you be there while I tell him? I know you"ll be able to kick his butts when he says trash. Please."
"I"m always beside you...it"s high time you face your problems yourself. If he starts talking those trash, I"ll be behind the door. Just say my name and I"ll come kick him out. OK?"
She bites her lips nervously. I sigh and hug her tightly. Ever since we both know they have bad tempers
we"ve been scared of the words that comes out from our mouth. Zach is no different from Acel. Maybe a
little better.
"Hey, beautiful." His voice makes us break from each other"s embrace. She starts breathing faster.
"Is everything OK? Should I take you to the hospital?" She shakes her head and walks toward her
bedroom. Zach frowns at me and follows her.
I quickly call Acel.
"Hello, hun. I miss you so much," he said.
"Is this how you miss people? If this is how you do it, then don"t tell them at all. You have not called the
whole day. And you didn"t pick immediately I called. You did on the fifth beep."
He laughs and I chuckle.
"I missed you. Trust me!!! What should I do to make you believe that? I can show up behind your door the
next morning."
I roll my eyes.
"I know you are rolling your eyes right now."
I shake my head.
"Zach is here."
"Yeah, he spends his weekends there. So obviously he"s there."
"And Paige is pregnant. She"s freaking out. She doesn"t know if he"ll love them both..."
"What are you talking about?!!! Why wouldn"t he love them both? You have no idea how happy he"ll be
when he hears that. I"m sure he"ll give her half of his inheritance when he hears this news."
I smile. I"m actually happy for them both.
"Wait...I can"t believe he beat me to it."
What is he even saying?
He sighs and clears his throat.
"Oh, so he takes almost everything of the inheritance. That is what you are worried about." I said feeling
so sad.
"Wait, what?!! No, what inheritance? We all have our shares. Dad retired from work a little long time ago. He only kept the restaurant closer to his house. So what shares are you talking about?"
I sigh. "I"m sorry. I thought you and him...I"m sorry. I won"t say such a thing again."
"I hear. Hope you"ve eaten and taken your bath."
"Yeah. I have. I"m off to bed. I"m sure you have a lot to do."
"Yeah, and I"ll go to bed later. I"ll be just alone in bed like the other nights. Just cool!!!"
I laugh so hard that I almost feel like crying.
