Absolutely. Since your book cover is The Whispering House, here is an original Nigerian mystery/thriller story you can use in the story app.THE WHISPERING HOUSESome secrets refuse to stay buried.Amara had always been warned never to enter the abandoned house at the edge of Umuoma village. The old house had stood there for as long as anyone could remember, surrounded by overgrown bushes and enormous palm trees. Its roof was rusty, its walls were cracked, and nobody had lived there for more than twenty years. But every night, just after midnight, people claimed they heard a woman whispering from inside.“Come home…”Amara never believed the stories.Until the night her mother disappeared. It was raining heavily when Amara returned from the city to attend her mother’s funeral. Everyone in the village welcomed her with sad faces, but there was something strange about their behavior.Nobody wanted to talk about how her mother had died.Whenever Amara asked, they simply said, “It was her time.”But Amara knew her mother. Her mother had been afraid of something. On the third night after the funeral, Amara woke suddenly to the sound of someone whispering her name.“Amara…”She sat upright. The room was dark.“Amara…”The voice came again. It was coming from outside. She slowly walked to the window and looked into the darkness. At the end of the village road stood the abandoned house. One of its windows was glowing.Amara’s heart began to race. Then she saw a woman standing behind the curtain. The woman raised her hand and pointed directly toward Amara’s house. The light went out.The next morning, Amara found something beneath her mother’s bed—a small wooden box.Inside was an old photograph of her mother standing beside three other people. One of them was a man Amara had never seen before. On the back of the photograph were five words:“Do not trust your uncle.”Amara froze. Her uncle, Emeka, was the most respected man in the village. He had taken care of everything after her mother’s death. He had even offered to help Amara sell their old family land. But now she began to wonder why her mother had warned her about him. That night, Amara followed a strange trail of footprints into the forest. They led straight to the abandoned house. The front door opened before she touched it.Inside, the air smelled of dust and rain. Then she heard the whisper.“Amara…”She turned around.Nobody was there.Suddenly, the door slammed shut.Amara screamed and tried to open it.Then she noticed something carved into the wall.It was her mother’s name.CHINYERE.Beneath it were dozens of other names. All women. All dead.Amara stepped backward in horror. Then she heard footsteps coming from upstairs.Slowly…step…step…step…Someone was coming down.A woman’s voice whispered behind her.“Your mother tried to tell you.”Amara turned. An old woman stood in the hallway. Her face was covered with scars.“Who are you?” Amara whispered. The old woman pointed toward a locked wooden door.“Your mother is not dead.”Amara’s blood ran cold.“What?”“She discovered what your uncle had been hiding.”Before Amara could ask another question, the old woman disappeared.Amara rushed toward the locked door.Behind it, she discovered a hidden room filled with old documents, photographs, land papers and newspaper articles. At the center of the room was a diary belonging to her mother.Amara opened it with trembling hands. The final entry read:“If you are reading this, Emeka has found out that I know the truth. The house is not haunted. The whispers are coming from the women he locked beneath it years ago. Their land was stolen, their families threatened, and anyone who tried to expose him disappeared.”Amara covered her mouth. Then she heard a sound behind her.A man’s voice.“You should never have come here.”She slowly turned. Her uncle stood in the doorway.Holding a knife.“You look exactly like your mother,” he said.Amara backed away.“What did you do to her?”He smiled.“She refused to remain silent.”Suddenly, a loud crash came from beneath the floor. Then another. The walls began to shake. And from somewhere underneath the house came dozens of women’s voices whispering together:“Tell the truth…”Emeka’s smile disappeared. The floor cracked open.Amara ran.She escaped through the window just as the old house began to collapse.By morning, the entire village knew the truth. The hidden documents exposed everything.Emeka was arrested, and the stolen lands were returned to the families. But Amara never forgot what happened that night.Months later, she returned to the village. The abandoned house was gone.Only its foundation remained. As Amara stood there, she heard a familiar voice behind her.“Amara…”She turned. Her mother was standing beneath a palm tree.Alive.Amara ran toward her, crying. But before they could embrace, her mother whispered:“There is one thing you still don’t know.”Amara stopped.“What?”Her mother looked toward the forest.“The house wasn’t the only place where they kept their secrets.”From deep inside the forest came another wh

The Whispering house-episode 1: The voice in the dark
EPISODE CONTENT Copy everything below into the large box: The night Amara returned to Umuoma, the village was unusually quiet. She had not been home for almost seven years. The city had become her world, and she had almost forgotten the sound of crickets singing beneath the moon or the smell of red earth after rain. But now she was back because her mother was dead. Everyone kept telling her the same thing. “Your mother was sick. It was her time.” But Amara did not believe them. Her mother had spoken to her on the phone only four days before her death. Her voice had sounded frightened. “Amara,” she had whispered, “if anything happens to me, don’t trust everyone who comes to you smiling.” Amara had laughed nervously and asked what she meant. Her mother never answered. That was their last conversation. Now, three nights after the funeral, Amara lay awake in her childhood bedroom, staring at the ceiling. Rain tapped gently against the window. Then she heard it. “Amara…” Her eyes opened. She held her breath. Nothing. She slowly sat up. “Amara…” This time the voice was clearer. It was coming from outside. Amara walked toward the window and pulled the curtain aside. Darkness covered the village. But at the far end of the road stood an abandoned house. Everyone in Umuoma called it The Whispering House. It had been empty for more than twenty years. Children were f*******n from going near it, and adults avoided mentioning it after sunset. Yet tonight, one of its windows was glowing. Amara stared at it. A shadow slowly appeared behind the curtain. It looked like a woman. The figure raised one hand and pointed directly toward Amara. Amara stepped backward. Suddenly, the light disappeared. Her heart pounded. She told herself it was only her imagination. Then something fell beneath her mother’s old bed. Amara turned on the flashlight of her phone and walked toward it. It was a small wooden box. She opened it carefully. Inside was an old photograph of her mother standing beside three strangers. Amara recognized one of them immediately. It was her uncle, Emeka. But the fourth person was a man she had never seen before. On the back of the photograph, her mother’s handwriting appeared. “If you find this, it means I failed to protect you.” Amara’s hands began to shake. Beneath the message was another sentence. “Whatever you do, never enter the Whispering House.” Before Amara could read further, someone knocked on her bedroom door. Three slow knocks. Knock. Knock. Knock. “Amara?” It was her uncle’s voice. She quickly hid the photograph beneath her pillow. “Yes?” “Are you awake?” “Yes, Uncle.” There was a long silence. Then he said something that made the blood in her body run cold. “Don’t go to the old house.” Amara froze. She had never told him about the voice. She had never told him she was looking at the house. She had never even mentioned the photograph. “Why?” she asked. Her uncle did not answer. Instead, his footsteps slowly moved away from the door. Amara waited until she could no longer hear him. Then she pulled the photograph from beneath her pillow. There was something else written on the back that she had not noticed before. A single sentence. “Your mother is not the first woman they made disappear.” Amara stared at the words in horror. Outside, the rain suddenly stopped. And from the direction of the abandoned house came a woman’s whisper. “Amara… come home.” She knew she should stay inside. She knew she should tell someone. But something inside her demanded answers. So she grabbed her phone, opened the door, and stepped into the darkness. She had no idea that the moment she entered the forest, someone was watching her from behind the trees. And that person was holding the same photograph. TO BE CONTINUED…
