“We are all hoping that the Federal Union will just edge it, but it’s too close to call. I’m worried the separatists might have it.”

Annabel and Jim watched the referendum results on the Big Stretch. As they came in, the Southern, Midland and Northern regions had voted by the narrowest of margins to remain in the Federal Union of England. Riots had broken out in Manchester, Birmingham and London.
