The Wedding That Changed Everything
Emily Carter stood at the altar in a breathtaking white wedding gown, her heart pounding with excitement. Today was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. The church was filled with family, friends, and influential guests waiting to witness her marriage to Daniel Brooks.
But Daniel never came.
Whispers spread across the hall. Minutes turned into an hour. Emily’s hands trembled as tears rolled down her cheeks. Suddenly, her phone buzzed.
“I can’t marry you. I’m sorry.”
That was all the message said.
Her world shattered.
Humiliated before hundreds of guests, Emily felt like she couldn’t breathe. Her father collapsed from the shock, clutching his chest.
At that moment, a tall man in a perfectly tailored black suit walked into the church. His cold gray eyes swept across the room before stopping on Emily.
Alexander Kingston.
The youngest billionaire in the country.
The most feared CEO.
He walked confidently toward her and spoke in a calm but commanding voice.
“Marry me.”
The entire church fell silent.
Emily stared at him in disbelief.
“What?”
“My grandmother’s dying wish is for me to get married today,” Alexander said. “Your wedding is already prepared. Mine isn’t. This benefits both of us.”
Emily laughed bitterly.
“You must be joking.”
“I’m not.”
Before she could answer, Alexander leaned closer.
“Your family’s company is drowning in debt. I can save it. Refuse me, and by tomorrow everything your father built will be gone.”
Emily froze.
How did he know?
She looked toward her father lying weakly in his seat, surrounded by worried relatives. Their company really was on the edge of bankruptcy.
She had no choice.
With tears in her eyes, Emily whispered the one word that changed her life forever.
“…Yes.”
Neither of them knew that this marriage would become a battlefield of secrets, betrayal, revenge and a love neither of them expected.
