Expiry Date

Sounds, I heard many sounds. Some loud, some quiet. Yet I could hear all of the sounds.            Why am I here, how am I here? This makes no sense... Wasn't I playing at the park a few seconds ago? I hear people talking nearby, I struggle to open my eyes. And then they open, Blinding light, such bright light. Doctor Kim: She's awake! The test worked on her! Mrs. Opal: CHARLIZE! Charlize: Wha- what happened? Where am I? Mrs. Opal: Oh Charlize,  I'm so sorry. I didn't want to tell you about this, but people have an expiry date... Charlize: Like... like food? Mrs. Opal: Yes. Just like food. Charlize: Why? I don't understand, why do people how expiry dates? Mrs. Opal: No one knows, all people know is that one day the government decided that people had expiry dates, with their help from scientists they created the "life bug" it lives inside you and is controlled by the government, depending on what your role is and what you do they extend or remove some of your life spa- Doctor Kim: I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation, but we really need to move on with the research. Charlize: Research? What do you mean by research? A lab rat or something?! Doctor Kim: Well, not really. BUT we tested a new... a new let's say... a new you should know. A Cure from the life bug. Well not really a cure more like a life extender d**g. Charlize: A life extender d**g? Wouldn't that be illegal? Or should I say, wouldn't that be illegal since the government wants people to have specific life spans? Doctor Kim: Yes and No. It wasn't really the government's choice to do this. Since there are many reasons why this is happening. Charlize: Then what's going to happen to me? How much longer do I have to live? Doctor Kim: You have about between 3-4 months Charlize: 3-4 months?! That isn't long at all... can't you extend it longer? Doctor Kim: Sadly without the government's further permission we aren't allowed to test anything more than that. Mrs. Opal: And this means what exactly? Doctor Kim: We have to find a way to extend her life WITH through the government's way of extending lives. Charlize: And how am I supposed to do that? Doctor Kim: By becoming either a hugely popular person or getting a political position. Charlize: That's- That's not possible in 3 months! Doctor Kim: Well...
