CHAPTER THREE

Scarlett had hunged up the call and Maya was still not sure what Levi was asking about ,she snapped out and was trying to ask what he said while stuttering but Levi said I mean why did you leave the room , that he initially thought she went to get water , just then did Maya let out a sigh of relief and went further to tell him she got on an important call with Scarlett ; hence why she stayed back.

Next morning , she was up early to make her breakfast bowl of oat and some fruits , then she got talking with Martha telling her this is what she would usually take every morning just then Levi came down . “Good morning dear husband , breakfast is ready king ” Maya giggled this made Levi smile and responded that she should go sign up as a comedian, that was how she eased the tension between them .

On a weekend , Maya and Scarlett had agreed to hang out at their favorite lounge to catch girls time and knowing Maya she has always been a baby girl full of life when it comes to dressing good and scenting nice count Maya in a hundred times.

As Maya approached Levi it all seemed like she was walking slow motion , he was lost and carried away by her appearance to the extent that he was not even aware when she got to him ; Maya had to tap her fingers to bring him back . “ How do I look dear husband ” Maya fondly ask , He responded “ not bad ” bluntly and said she should allow the driver take her wherever she wants and that she should not refuse this time ,and that precisely she needs to start playing wifey role ; so the rumor can spread fast just like how the gay rumors did.

She told the driver they have to pick Scarlett at home while they head down together to the lounge , getting to Scarlett ; while she stepped in , first thing she said was “ hey billionaires wife’” they laughed Scarllet had made reservations earlier , hence why settling in was easy because the lounge is always packed on a weekend . While they await their order , they refreshed and talked over cocktails. Scarllet had asked how she’s been coping , and Maya said it has honestly been more stress free than I expected ,he is matured and responsible , he so into work even though he has employees , he will rather go to the office to sort every work related thing , he does not like procrastination . And so far we have not had an issues because we both respect boundaries a lot.

Then Scarlett replied how she intend to deal with the Noah issue when he finds out , Maya said she cannot wait for the moment she meets Noah face to face , she said she knows Levi will be furious , considering Noah being he’s nephew while I am he’s ex but however it turns out ,in as much as I make Noah feel the pain and betrayal he caused me ; she sneered. And said “ I will fix things later,after all I’m not he’s real wife ”. Scarllet sighed , help on to one of Maya’s hands and said I no you will handle it ,not because of anything but you have always been that rescilient girl , who achieves whatever goal she set ; hence why we that know you well believe so much in your decisions and judgment and wherever you need me to come in , you no I’m always right here okay ; with that being said let’s have the fun we came to here for girl !!!!!!!!!

After they done having all the fun , Maya asked they drop off Scarlett before heading home ; she got home about dinner time and all she requested was just dessert because she had a lot from the outing with Scarlett. While she sat at the table to have dinner , Levi told her tomorrow they will have to go to the jeweler to get wedding rings because ; she is meeting he’s family soon and they need rings as evidence that they are married . Maya responded “ how did I forget that detail out, sorry husband ” ; she rolled her eye ball like a puppy and Levi smiled.

After dinner they talked a little and that was when Levi asked about her cleaning business, she told him when she just started she sometimes do the cleaning herself or sometimes Scarlett joins when she’s less busy and as time goes on , she got a team that does the job while she just supervises . And that she has been doing this since college days ; consistency brought me this far and it there is something about me it’s the spirit of not giving up , not that I was forced to build myself but I just wanted to be able to meet up with my needs and that of my father even though my father was not poor I still wanted to do well for myself , Maya said firmly.

She went further to say , her dad is an amazing father since childhood , it took years for her mother to conceive and after birth her mother became sick,the doctor said it was because she got pregnant at a later age.Tried all they could but she died afterwards ,and since then it has been just her and her father,he is responsible and provided her needs even though he was not rich but they were not struggling.

So why did you decide to get in a contract marriage with me,every contract marriage comes with a reason,I told you mine even though it was evident ,tell me what is yours Levi bluntly asked.There was silence till Maya responded let us take it one step at a time,tonight is for my background,I will tell my reason some other time dear husband,I will retire to bed now.

Next morning, Levi had gone to the office early for a board meeting and before leaving he told Maya that the driver will come pick her up by 2pm so they head to the jewelry store.It was easy to find a befitting ring for a billionaire and he’s wife.

While heading back home,Levi got a call and after the call,Levi said that was my sister in law,she called to let me know my nephew is getting engaged in a week.

Your nephew!!!!! Maya asked

Yeah my nephew Noah ; you get to meet him and other members of the family on the engagement okay ,Levi said to Maya.While he was saying all this Maya was dumbfounded.
