Chapter 13…Gina
Her name was somewhere between a peep and a chirp. Gina, with a hard G, was as close as we could come. We got acquainted the next morning when she visited us. She was a pretty little thing and looked to be about eight years old.
When we’d awakened the tribe was eating again. They had picked the animal almost clean and were finishing it up. Gina was a member of one of the bigger families and that morning there hadn’t been enough to go around and all she’d gotten for breakfast had been a clout on the head from Daddy.
