Chapter fifty five: The Corrupted Moon

1364 Words
Silver Cassano was blinded by the light that suddenly bursted in the surrounding. He was busy ending the life of the Moonlit Wolf who almost killed Alina. Then, a sudden burst of light had occurred, beaming too bright that the redness of his Fyr Donjun skill seems like a weak, unstable skill. Now, from the center of the light, he saw a woman. A silhouette of it. Her beautifully carved body was standing as her long dress was dancing from the wind. More light came through, and Silver had no other choice but to close his eyes, and cover it. For a minute, he remained in that position. He doesn't even know where Alina, or Jiero, or Yohanna was. And he was afraid that something might happen to them. “Dear warriors, you are all now bounded with my protection. You may open your tired eyes.” It was an echoing voice. A voice of a woman who sounded high and powerful. Silver did what the woman told. He opened his eyes, and discovered that they were not at the tower anymore. Or perhaps, they are, only that it is a more different area. The land was green, and flowers glowing in white light has been standing abundantly in the beautiful, serene place—the Artemisa, the flower of the moon goddess. It wasn't dark, or night. The whole surrounding was bright, in daylight. But there were no sun. There were no blazing of sun that tingles his skin, but only the beam of the light at the white heaven. Then, not far from him, he saw Yohanna standing. And just beside her, is where Jiero and Alina was. He ran towards where Alina was lying. “Alina,” he told. Yet, he knew that Alina would not be able to respond. Still, she was unconscious. Her breathing short, and the paleness of her face came back. “Alina, you have to fight it,” Silver said, helpless. “Perhaps your ally was poisoned by my Moonlit Wolf,” a voice of the woman, again, had appeared. “Wh—who are you?” Yohanna said. She was just from the recovery of those blinding lights, and she started to feel terrified from the voice. “Heed, I am Artemis, the goddess of hunting and the moon.” Then swarm of cottony lights started to appear at their front. It swirled and danced, then a burst of light. Silver squinted his eyes for a short period of time, for the light that bursted was of a revelation of who Artemis, the goddess of the moon was. She was a woman of long, black, waves of hair, a golden crescent moon as mark on her forehead, white moon-like glow of eyes, a fair, beautiful skin, and a perfect curvature of the body. A goddess. “I believe your fortune of coming here was of destined. Your strength, wisdom, and skill had made you come here, to the very heart of the dungeon, where I, unfortunately, was bounded by my own self,” said Artemis. Her voice were soft and filled with elegance. As beautiful as the glowing flower of Artemisa. “Please help me.” “Goddess, it was of our want to help you from your misery, but we have our own. See, one of our comrades was about to die, and we cannot do anything about it.” Silver fought back the tears that was about to escape out of his eyes. He had to be tough. He had to stand on his own, chaotic ground. “Perhaps I can help,” said the goddess. “In exchange, of course, of your help.” Yohanna was the one who answered the goddess. “W—We would do anything. Just please . . . save Alina.” The goddess then smiled. She turned her back, and walked elegantly. Silver, Jiero, and Yohanna watched the goddess plucking three pieces of glowing flower—Artemisa—at the vast field of greenery. She then went back to the group. She carefully sat in the front of now struggling Alina. “Pain, I share it with you and your unfortunates, young lady. My Moonlit Wolf was not supposed to try killing a friend, for I created it from my own heart. But my vile, jealous brother . . . he was ruthless that he even manipulated my own power.” She then placed the flowers on Alina’s chest. A symbol started to appear. Glowing in silvery white light, Silver concluded that it was the symbol of the goddess' power. The symbol of Artemis. A chant Artemis had told, closing her eyes, and focusing on what she was doing. Until the flowers turned cottons of light, and be blowed up in the air. Alina gasped. She opened her eyes as if in shock. The air flow freely at her lungs, and the paleness of her body started to flush down. Silver smiled. He sat on the grasses as his knees were now weak, but relieved. Jiero and Yohanna hugged Alina, yet Silver just stared at her. Silence, and by just looking at her beauty, he was satisfied. He felt happy. “Glad that you are safe, sweet woman,” Artemis told. The smile on her face was genuine and bright. As Alina looked at her, another gasping had escaped from her mouth. But this time, it is more controlled. Alina was just fascinated as she saw the beauty of the goddess who had helped her. “Artemis,” she said. “Indeed, I am.” All of them knew that this place was just a whole kind of game. But, they cannot hide their amazement as they saw unreal, fictional creatures turning into life. Just like the goddess of the moon. “W—We have to save you from Apollo,” Alina said. “You have been imprisoned here because of him.” “I am, but it was entirely my fault.” Artemis sighed. She looked at the ground, ashamed of what she would be telling. “As a god, we should be displaying values that is of the humanity's model. But I have failed. I betrayed my brother from our promises. I . . . I am filled with my greed. And so, I am here. I let him bound me here, and face the consequences of my actions. But his power corrupted me.” “In what way are you corrupted?” asked Yohanna. Artemis showed her smile again. “I was a goddess that resonates purity, but—” Artemis stopped. She held the boundary of her neck and chest. She breathed deep. She fell silent. “Goddess, what happened?” Silver stood. He was confused, but he turn on his own sense of alert. “G—Get back.” Artemis was trembling. As she looked back at Alina, sweat has been running at her forehead. “I—I am a cursed goddess. Please help me.” Then tears ran down to her cheeks. “Get back, now!” Silver commanded. They followed him, for they were afraid of what would happen. Silver was worried of how the goddess was feeling. He believed that she was suffering from an excruciating pain. Then, Artemis screamed. She held her head, pulled her hair, and clutched her stomach. In one sudden explosion, Artemis’ beautiful and elegant features started to burn. Her soft voice echoed angriness. She stared at them in a shot of blood-red eyes. The whole place started to be eaten by fire. “Cursed Artemis. Dungeon boss,” Alina said, trembling, as she read the information at her Sabertooth’s wisdom. But more unexpected things happened. “Yiiihaaaa!!” Two wild, barbaric voice appeared at the scenario. From above, two men landed right at their front. The first thing that came onto Silver's sight, was the screen embedded at their wrist. A player. A smile they had given, and said, “thanks for clearing the waves of beasts. The dungeon boss is ours.” They released one wild laugh, revealed their weapons, and attacked the Burning Artemis.
