20 Even though she’d seen it before, the Fatuus mansion didn’t fail to impress Sam again as she rolled up onto the driveway. She parked in one of the many spaces available and tried not to compare her old car to the sleek machines surrounding the fountain. As a working woman her entire life, it was easy to forget some people had more money than they could ever want, need, or spend. The entire driveway probably cost more than her house. She swung her legs out of the car in an attempt to do it like Lilith but almost tripped over her own feet. She managed to catch herself on the door and pretended nothing happened as she let Shadow out of the back. The hellhound jumped eagerly out of the car and dug her paws into the large gravel. “Oi, don’t do that,” Sam scolded her, tugging on the lead.
