The next day, Samantha and Shadow arrived at the Fatuus mansion ready to discover some treasure. She handed Justus her coat, even though she still found it strange, and made her way up the stairs. Even from the beginning of the hall, she could hear the heated voices coming from Lilith’s wing.
Worried, she rushed ahead and swung the door open, not bothering to knock. It wasn’t very polite but she wasn’t going to waste precious time if Lilith was being attacked.
“Samantha.”
Stood at the coffee table, Lilith and Rex each had their hands on the map and were pulling it to pieces.
“What’s going on here?” Sam inquired, approaching the cousins.
“Rex—”
“I was just—”
“I told him—”
“But it’s not—”
“Wraf!” Shadow barked, just for good measure.
