They sat together for a little while, neither daring to speak. Sam fiddled with her new Warden ring, twisting it around and around just like she used to do with her wedding ring. She appreciated that Lilith got it for that reason even though she wasn’t too sure how she felt about it yet. Just when Samantha was considering pouring herself another glass to break the awkward tension, the other woman perked up with a triumphant smile.
“I know!” Lilith exclaimed. She grabbed Sam by the hand and tugged her up from her stagnant position on the couch. “Let’s go to my house.”
That got Samantha’s interest. “Really?”
“Yes. I need to make some arrangements and once I’m Boss, you’ll be spending a lot of time there so might as well get started now.”
