Detective Alsie and the Triplets ... the beginning

Secrets...

Andrew POV-

I stand up and lunge towards Beta Jacob. My eyes black as night, my wolf just below the surface. I can feel myself losing control.

“Who are you to tell us, who we can and cannot have for a mate?” I holler at Beta Jacob. “You have no say, in our decision for Luna.”

I feel Evander grab me and see Osiris step in front of me.

“Calm down Andrew, let’s hear what he has to say. I’m sure there is a very good reason for Beta Jacob to be interfering with our mate process.”

I feel my anger slowly subsiding.

“Ok. Let’s hear it.” I growl.

“Alpha Kordell, you’re not going to say anything here? Luna Jazmine, you either? Asks Beta Jacob, looking for some help.

“No. You spoke, so you have the floor.” Replied Alpha Kordell.

“I have no words Beta Jacob; you should’ve waited and spoke with us first, before blurting out your response. As Andrew said, you have no say in their mate matters. Quite frankly, neither do either of us. Their mate and Luna, their choice.” My mom always the Luna, so steady in a room full of Alpha energy.

“If you let them go through with this, you’re making a huge mistake and you both it.” Fumed Beta Jacob

“I think, it would be in your best interest to start telling us what the f**k is going on and explain yourself thoroughly.”

“Yes, Alpha Andrew. I apologize for my outburst. My concern and loyalty always lie with the Far-Side Moon pack. Again, my apologies for speaking out of turn.”

“Clearly, you feel very strong about this possible pairing Beta Jacob. My brother will return to his seat and compose himself. Once we have brought decorum back into the room and tempers are tampered down, you will proceed.”

Osiris looks in my direction and nods his head.

I take a deep cleansing breath and return to my seat. I feel my wolf retreating

“The floor is yours Beta Jacob.” Says Osiris, as he sits back down in his chair, next to me.

“Thank you, Alpha Osiris. Again, my apologies. My concern, my main concern is that you three don’t know the whole story of Alsie, her parents, and how they ended up here in Far-Side Moon.”

“Beta Jacob, my sons are fully aware of Alsie’s parents. It’s no pack secret that her mom was human. Her father was my Beta and best friend before you earned your position as Beta. Again, it’s no pack secret that former Beta William showed up on our packlands as a wee pup and my parents, the Alpha and Luna before me, took him in and raised him as their own. I do not understand your desire to stop this mate bond.”

“I appreciate that recap Alpha Kordell, her lineage is only one of my many concerns.”

“Then what is it, what are the rest of your concerns, Beta?” I ask loudly. I’m getting mad all over again. I don’t like when other men speak of Alsie.

“I think, no, I know, that this is a conversation for another day. My sons have not had the time to ask Alsie if this is something she’d even entertain. As far as I know being Luna is of no interest to her. We gave her permission to work her human job in the human world, and all reports indicate that she is good at it and enjoys it. I don’t see her giving up her independence to be Luna. Luna is a full-time job; it doesn’t matter what kind of Luna she intends to be."

My father is right, and I think my heart breaks a little because of it. I glance over at my brothers, and I can see the defeat in their eyes.

“It feels like we’ve lost our Luna, and we haven’t even had the chance to talk to her.” Sighed Evander.

“Alpha, Luna, Beta, please excuse us. My brothers and I have a few things to discuss privately.”

“You and your brothers are excused Osiris.”

I watched as Osiris and Evander got up from their seats. I didn’t want to leave yet, I wanted to keep this conversation going. I know for a fact that if we kept talking Osiris would find a work around. That’s what he does, he solves problems, much like our Luna Alsie.

“She’s not our Luna, Andrew.”

“Get out my head Evander! She will be. I know it.”

“Shut up you two. Come here, quietly.” Osiris whisper yells at us and motions us to come over to the other side of the hallway.

I see it, a crack in the big door, next to the hinges.

Be quiet and listen. Osiris mind-links us.

“Alpha, you must tell them about the Alsie. The whole truth about her, no secrets, not anymore. This is getting serious, if they’re thinking about her as Luna, they must feel some type of draw to her.”

“Kordell, honey. Jacob is right. It’s time to come clean.”

“It is not time, and I will not share any more private information with my sons about Alsie. You both heard them; they haven’t spoken with her yet. The three of them just came to this conclusion a few hours ago. The gate guards informed me that Alsie left for work again at around 3:00am. I know it was one of many nights that the triplets were creeping around her house thinking they were going unnoticed. I know there was a kiss between her and Osiris, just like I know Evander went to see her at work for lunch last week. I’m fully up-to-date on the goings on in the pack I rule. We know nothing of what’s going to happen between the triplets and Alsie. Would it really be such a horrible thing if they did choose her, and she accepted?”

“Kordell, have you lost your mind? This is why I told you they need to have a mate BEFORE their 25th birthday. You and I both know what will happen in 21 days.”

“Yes, Jacob we both do. Unfortunately, I can’t make my sons do anything they don’t want to. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.”

What are they talking about? I ask over mind-link.

I don’t know, but let’s go to my room before we’re caught out here eavesdropping. Osiris links back.

With that we leave the hallway and head to the stairs.
