Cassie was orphaned at two years old. After numerous foster homes, she was finally adopted at four years old by the Black Hollow packs leader Alpha Dieter and his Luna Cindi. Life has never been easy for Cassie, especially as their own daughter Bailey, who is seven years her senior, hates her so much. Is a solid and happy home so much to ask for? Only time will tell.

Blue Moon Luna
CHAPTER 1 It was the day before Cassie's nineteenth birthday, normaly a wolf shifted when they turned eighteen. But not Cassie, she hadn't changed at all, not even once in nearly a whole year had she shifted she couldn't undestand it and neither could anyone else for that matter, not even the packs doctors could explain it. She was feeling a bit of a freak, and oh how Bailey, her sister, was very eager to tell her at every opportunity that she was very much a freak. She had continued to tell her the same for almost the past year. Talking of Bailey, that girl was everything she wasn't, especially to Cassie's adoptive parents Alpha Dieter and Luna Cindi, who adored her, which was natural as she was their only pup. She was very beautiful had great taste in everything and could also be a pain when she wanted to be, though this was a side Cassie's parents never saw, sadly this was saved mostly for Cassie and anyone else who got in her way. She'd been sat on her bed thinking about everything that had been happening in her life, but now she suddenly stood up and gazed at herself in the full-length mirror. She had long natural strawberry blonde hair, eyes that were a mixture of silver and light blue, like a cold wintery sky but in midsummer and full pouting lips. She was also taller and more slender than her sister too. She also knew that Bailey revelled in the fact of how she looked, after-all the guys in the pack seemed to like girls who were like Bailey with her long black hair, green eyes and a curvier body. Cassie sighed heavily, not even sure why she was giving so much thought to her sister this way, especially when she had training to get to With that thought in mind Cassie hurried to the large three ring training area where her best friend Angela was already training with the head trainer Bennet, who was also her father's Beta and Bailey's mate, which was strange in a way as her sister had a roving eye and she didn't think her sister would settle for one man, Angela told Cassie that she'd seen Bailey with another guy only just recently. Out of worry, Cassie had broached the subject with her sister only to be told to mind her own business also to tell no-one, and if she couldn't, then she promised to make Cassie's life a living hell and to stay well away from her mate. She watched as Bennet trained with her friend and thought how they'd make perfect mates as they seemed to anticipate each others moves and thoughts. Angela gave back kick for kick and punch for punch she was a very strong warrior. They all, apart from Bailey that was who was more like chief cook and bottle washer, had had to train even harder since the rogue attacks that were happening far too often for everyone's liking. Especially now when there were so few pups as many had been taken, and so many females had found mates with visiting packs and had moved to be with them. Cassie sat on the sidelines watching them both, as she waited for Dex, who was supposed to be her sparring partner, only he hadn't arrived and was really late. "I hope you're not staring at my mate." Came Bailey's dulcet hiss from behind Cassie. Cassie turned, then slowly looked up at her scowling sister and returned sweetly. "You know, if the wind changes, your face will stay that way." Bailey's face grew red with fury. "You b***h!" She squeeled kicking out her foot to hit Cassie. But she was too fast and instantly stood up. "Why would I want you're seconds!" Cassie bit back without thinking. With that, Bailey's hand whipped out and snatched her hair in a relentless grip, making Cassie's head flick sharply to the side as she hissed. "Be very careful what you say you witch. When I'm Luna of this pack, you won't know what's hit you, you wolfless orphan!" She snarled only just loud enough for Cassie to hear. Though the roots of her hair were being almost torn out, Cassie refused to let her sister see the pain or the tears about to erupt, so instead, she pulled hard enough to free herself from her grasp saying. "Oh, I'm sure you'll think of something or get someone else to do your dirty work for you." Before her sister could say anymore, Cassie strode away to her friend, who had now finished training. "What was that all about?" Angela asked as she mopped the back of her neck with the towel she'd plucked from the bench as she nodded towards Bailey. Cassie shrugged. "Just Bailey being Bailey." "Didn't look that way, seemed more like Bailey throwing her weight around to me." Angela returned protectively. "Really, it's fine Gela," you say using the childhood name you always called her by. "I can handle my sister." She assured her quickly. Angela gave a huff. "Oh, you mean like when she damaged your Ipad or she squirt bleach over that new dress you bought for prom, or when she.." Swiftly, you place your hand over Angela's mouth to stop her as all the bad memories of what your sister had done to you came flooding back as fast as lightening in a bad storm. "OK, OK, you win. I just really don't want to talk about it right now, alright?" You say releasing your hand. Angela nodded. "I know you'll tell me when you're ready too. You always do, so I won't push you." Cassie smiled, knowing her friend would leave it for now. "Hey! shall we go to the lagoon for a swim." Angela said excitedly as she skipped beside Cassie." It's been ages since we've been. At least it has just the two of us." " Won't your parents be expecting you home?" Casie returned. "Not till later, they went to take Tina shopping for new school clothes, you know how long that takes her that's why I opt out." Tina was Angela's younger sister and was about to start her senior year in a couple of weeks. "Great! But I'll need to go home for my swimming costume first or it will be naked swimming otherwise." Cassie smiles. "No worries, I'll just borrow one of yours if thats ok as your house is on the way their." Gela smiles happily. At Cassie's house, they change into swimsuits, Angela slips on her school cardigan over her swimsuit, while Cassie chooses a sorong to wrap her bottom half with. They leave the house chatting as they make their way to the lagoon. It's free from anyone else, so laughing, they run to the edge, quickly discarding their outer wear before diving into the cool water. It catches their breath at first, but as soon as they play and lark around in the water, they soon start to warm up. Cassie relaxes on her back in the water, looking up at the clear blue sky with the odd cloud passing by. "What are you thinking about Cassie?" Angela asks, breaking her thoughts. "Oh..nothing, really. Just how much I love it here, you know we should come way more often than we do." She tells her friend, giving a small and very relaxed sigh to which Angela agrees wholeheartedly. Suddenly, with fear, they both turn at the same time looking towards the woods as they hear dry branches creaking and breaking loudly. They look at each other for a moment, and as quietly as can be, they swim to the side of the lagoon, watching for something, anything to happen. At that very moment, an enormous black wolf charges towards them. They lunge out of the water, and right away, they start to run as fast as they can. As the wolf starts to gain on them, Cassie shouts to Angela to change into her wolf form, then to go and get help as fast as she can.
