EPILOGUE The moment was surreal. It was 11 a.m. on a weekday morning in the City of New York—a time when the decibel level in the streets is permanently set to “high.” In a one square mile section of Jackson Heights, however, the only sounds were provided by three flags flapping freely in the sporadic breeze. The NYPD color guard bearing the flags of the United States, New York City, and the NYPD served as the focal point in a sea of blue. Local residents and officers from as far as California and Louisiana converged on Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church on 79th street on this warm spring day for a final salute to Police Officer Bobby Moylan.
